Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits to User talk:Drmies while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Hey, it's not very smart to admit to logged-out editing. Also, those edits, they are very disruptive and unencyclopedic: please try editing at Wikia. Drmies (talk) 01:21, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Barbara Mandrell discography, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page No Nonsense. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Underworld Unleashed. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Binksternet (talk) 23:51, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits

[edit]

Hi! I see that you've made large numbers of minor edits to several articles, some of which are on my watchlist. Some of those edits are valuable (thank you!), but many are not. Actions such as removing hyphens from hyphenated words, changing correctly-written numbers from words to figures, adding an unnecessary thousands comma and so on are unlikely to be helpful – these are matters governed by editor preference and/or language usage, and it's usually best to leave them as they were. Changing the capitalisation of a link that is anyway piped is completely pointless, as no-one sees it other than in edit mode and the software handles it equally well either way. Before changing something, please ask yourself whether the change is actually an improvement (as opposed to being just a change to an alternative way of writing the same thing). Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:28, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Mcfoureyes, in line with the above advice, please stop changing the piping for Pointer (dog breed) to English Pointer wherever you see it, in the English speaking world “Pointer” is the correct breed name and this is English language Wikipedia. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing certain pages (Underworld Unleashed) for disruptive editing.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Izno (talk) 00:13, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I'm only fixing a discarded article for a friend to copy. Three reference numbers within three references were wrong and I changed material in another one. This copy is only for his own personal use (as he has the comics that make up the Underworld Unleashed storyline that are on the discarded list) and will not be distributed anywhere else. I'm not even keeping it on there; in fact, I always switch it back to the currently accepted version when I'm done. So, if I'm putting it back and discarding it again only once in a while when I need to, there's no need to keep blocking me all the time; it's just a waste of my time and yours. After all, what's there to complain about? You've still got the current article. Mcfoureyes (talk) 00:23, 3 May 2021 (UTC)![reply]

Decline reason:

If you need instruction in how to view, highlight, and copy/paste an old revision, you could have asked for assistance instead of experimenting. We don't have specific rules for everything conceivable that someone might do wrong, but what you have done is disruptive and hurt the project. The fact that you seem to think that what you've done is okay tells me that removing the partial block would not benefit the project, and as such I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:25, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You can view old revisions without making edits to the page... Izno (talk) 00:46, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Or instead of clicking the submit button on the edit page, copy-paste the content you want and then cancel out. Izno (talk) 00:48, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I can't copy-paste anything because first, I don't know how to do it and never even heard of it until now and second, if it involves actually, physically printing something, I'm not connected to my dad's printer on his computer. Can someone please help me out with this so I don't have to go through this same old routine again? Thanks in advance1Mcfoureyes (talk) 02:16, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mcfoureyes, your behavior on that article is disruptive and you are simply not allowed to do that to any article, even for a minute or less. I do not understand what you are trying to do, but I do know that you will not be permitted to continue the disruption. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 02:25, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've already explained what I did it for; it's all right there in black and white. Please point out to me where it says I can't do this and maybe then we can talk.Mcfoureyes (talk) 02:33, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

We have an article about copy and pasting and it has some keyboard shortcuts. It's at Cut, copy, and paste#Common keyboard shortcuts. (You can also copy and paste using right-click in most Internet browsers.) You select some text, then use the shortcut for copy, then go to the place you want to paste the content, then use the shortcut for paste. You can paste to most textboxes, like a private copy in Microsoft Word or a draft in your email account. It doesn't require physically printing anything. Your friend can do it too.
In fact, you can do this while blocked from the article. Go to the article and click the History tab. Click the timestamp of the version you are interested in. If you just want the content, you copy and paste from here. If you want the wikitext, then you can click "View Source". Then copy and paste wherever you want.
Does that all make sense? Izno (talk) 13:35, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You can also use your Internet browser's Print functionality to print to a digital copy, like PDF. Which also does not require a printer. So you might try that instead if you want a prettier copy than copy-pasting will get you. You can access print just by Ctrl + P in Windows operating system, then you'll probably need to select the target printer. If a PDF printer is not installed, you should ask your dad about installing one. (And again, in all of this, your friend can do it too.) Izno (talk) 13:39, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I admit I'm wrong. Please unblock me and I won't do what I'm accused of again. In fact, I don't even need to need to do it anymore in the first incident.Mcfoureyes (talk) 06:59, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Then could you explain these edits, which you made in rapid succession a few minutes ago? [1], [2], [3], [4] --bonadea contributions talk 14:21, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly. Some were filling in missing words in sentences, some were removing unnecessary capitalization were none was needed and some was correcting spelling or punctuation errors.

Btw, my apology applies to both this and the above blocking - especially the first one, which is what I referring to when I said that I didn't need to do it anymore.

As for what you just mentioned above, I was correcting two mentions of a book title to what the title is on the actual dust jacket.Mcfoureyes (talk) 14:50, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You just evaded your partial block at Underworld Unleashed in this edit by the same IP range that you have been using previously. You made the exact same disruptive edit as before. What is going on? Binksternet (talk) 02:18, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't do it this time, my friend did it at his workplace printer. He messed up on something and I helped him. Mcfoureyes (talk) 02:22, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You don't see how ridiculous this explanation is? Binksternet (talk) 04:42, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for avoiding a page block by editing logged out, and then lying about it.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Floquenbeam (talk) 14:42, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It is fundamentally unacceptable to evade a block, and then lie about it when you do it so clumsily that you're caught. You are not welcome here, please find some other website to play on. --Floquenbeam (talk) 14:44, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please, I think I've been punished enough. Besides, my local library says my block is set to expire on July 5th at 00:56. How come it doesn't say that here?

Also. removing my additions to List of Batman comics was unnecessary, because I got them all off of Amazon, especially the ones for the Dark Nights: Death Metal hardcovers and trade paperbacks. The cover dates for these removed titles all came from the DC Database. I believe that this removal was done out of anger and maybe spite. At least, please put them back. Everything that was listed and removed is already out there and available, so it is not low-quality edits as Guy Macon has said when he removed them.Mcfoureyes (talk) 02:23, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, what Guy Macon did was well within the policy and guidelines of this site. I would assume it was not done in anger or spite, even though you had just insulted all of us with one of the most ludicrous excuses I've ever seen here.
I have no clue why your library says something different about your block and I have no say about your unblock request, if that's what this is. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors whatever happens, but the final comment above by the blocking admin says a lot. I don't think they speak so bluntly without good reason. --DB1729 (talk) 21:39, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please tell me what is so bad about putting on an old discarded page that no one wants and no one cares about anymore, noticing a mistake and fixing it, printing it out and then switching it back to where it was before. Please show me where it is in the rules that it can't be done, because I don't know where it is.Mcfoureyes (talk) 02:30, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fixing an error on List of Batman comics

[edit]

Someone put an entry for Joker: Killer Smile in the One-shot issues and graphic novels section of this article. This is wrong, because Joker: Killer Smile #1–3 is already in the Miniseries section. Since I'm not allowed to remove it, could someone please do so? That would be nice.Mcfoureyes (talk) 18:55, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone please remove this error? It's been on there way too long. I was hoping someone would actually do this by now.Mcfoureyes (talk) 09:13, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reference to rule

[edit]

Would someone please tell me where the rule is that I asked for before on May 21? I still don't have an answer yet.

Also, someone said that what I was doing with Underworld Unleashed disrupted and was hurting the project. How is this so? No one's given me any explanations for anything.

Finally, Cullen said "Let's discuss it". How can I discuss it if I can't go onto his talk page?Mcfoureyes (talk) 19:00, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for blocking needed

[edit]

Last I checked, my IP address was set to be unblocked on 00:56 on June 15. When it was, I thought this would be over. Then only a few days later, Binksternet blocked me again out of the blue.

This has gone on far enough. I want to please be told why he's doing this to me and no else when all I did was mostly this:

  • italicize some scientific names in Heloderma that needed it,
  • change a sentence in Hugo Strange from the past tense to the present tense, like the paragraph before it was,
  • put volume numbers on the DC superhero titles that are part of Dark Nights: Metal (i.e., Teen Titans (vol. 6) #12),

and that's just what I can think of right now.

I'd also like to please have the answers to the questions on my post above this one. I'm willing to discuss this, so let's discuss it.Mcfoureyes (talk) 18:26, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Someone has taken off several Batman and Batman-related series, miniseries, one-shot issues, trade paperbacks and, indeed, an entire Batman-centric storyline (Dark Nights: Death Metal) out of List of Batman comics. I'd like to know to know why, please. When I undid what had been done before, I explained why in the Edit summary. Didn't anyone see it or did you just choose to ignore it? (Btw, the mistaken entry of Joker: Killer Smile in the One-shot issues and graphic novels section is back. It doesn't belong there because Joker: Killer Smile is already in the Miniseries section, or didn't whoever did this notice that when they put it back?)

These stories all exist and they're out there. Why are they being denied their places in the article? If anyone else besides me had done this, they'd have been gladly kept in. I'm beginning to think that I'm being singled out for persecution for no good reason and again, I'd like to know why and who's responsible. I feel like I'm already being judged as being guilty instead of being given a fair trial and it's not right at all.

This isn't getting anyone anywhere. Why don't we all just discuss our differences like civilized men?Mcfoureyes (talk) 20:37, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mcfoureyes, the IP range 2600:1700:7e31:5710::/64 has been blocked for a good long time because you were using it to evade your indefinite block. If you have any interest at all in ever returning to editing here, you are strongly advised not to do that ever again. You should also stop posting childish complaints on this page. The only thing you are allowed to post here is an unblock request; that should start with a clear explanation of why you were blocked in the first place, why what you did was unacceptable, and how you intend to avoid that behaviour in future. If you post anything else, and particularly if you carry on as above, you can expect to lose access to this page without further warning or discussion. There's no need to acknowledge this note. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:03, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

All right. I'm sorry and I won't do what I did before with Underworld Underworld ever again. I request to be unblocked.Mcfoureyes (talk) 01:04, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

In re: Old World bird subspecies' names

[edit]

Aa77xx, I didn't "invent" those Old World bird subspecies' common names, I got them off of Avibase, which is a database, not a wiki. I even said that I did it when I submitted them; you can see it on the View history sections for each of them. Look up each species on Avibase and you'll see them. Avibase even uses Wikipedia as one of its sources.Mcfoureyes (talk) 17:53, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question to Binksternet

[edit]

Binksternet, as mentioned above, my local public library system has allowed me to edit since July 5th. My recent edits were done there. Therefore I don't think this should be treated as a block evasion. If you could please tell me what date these various blocks are all going to be lifted, that would be nice. Besides, I didn't switch from the current version of Underworld Unleashed to an old one (which is what started all this in the first place and which I said above I would not do again (which I haven't, btw), I made additions to the one you made because of mistakes. Let's talk about this, OK?Mcfoureyes (talk) 02:09, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For the record, your comment here comes because I was chasing down your block evasion on the IP Special:Contributions/68.208.127.67 which you have been using heavily for two days, and on the range Special:Contributions/2600:1700:549:A050:0:0:0:0/64 which you have used four times since Mcfoureyes was blocked. All of that is block evasion.
There are technical ways you can bypass Wikipedia's block on your registered account. None of those ways are allowed on Wikipedia. You, the person behind the edits, are considered blocked from Wikipedia in all forms, be it you using IP addresses from libraries, going to a friend's house, getting someone else to edit for you, etc.
To regain your right to do anything constructive on Wikipedia, you must officially request this Mcfoureyes account to be unblocked, with an administrator deciding that your request was good enough to unblock. The problem, of course, is that you have shown yourself unworthy because of the extensive block evasion. You would have to stay away from all forms of block evasion—stay off of Wikipedia entirely—for six months before there is the slightest prayer of an administrator considering that maybe you can be unblocked. Also, your reasoning here shows that you don't understand why you were blocked in the first place, so you would have to prove to the admin that you know the rules. Binksternet (talk) 02:28, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

All right, you win. I haven't done what I did before with Underworld Unleashed (which, btw, is what started all this in the first place) and I don't even need to now, because I gave my friend a printout of the page "Cut, copy and paste". The last time I talked to him, he said he followed the steps and got the page for himself and got it right. Now will you please unblock me?Mcfoureyes (talk) 01:40, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Great. If you continue to stay off of Wikipedia with sockpuppets or IP edits then you can request to be unblocked six months after your last violation. That means you can request to be unblocked in late January 2022 at the earliest. Binksternet (talk) 02:40, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Why can't we just do it now and get it over with? I've already done what you've all told me to do and admitted I was wrong. Isn't that enough?Mcfoureyes (talk) 03:01, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't write the rules, but you can read them yourself at Wikipedia:Standard offer. Six months minimum or they won't even consider it. Binksternet (talk) 04:07, 5 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fixing errors on List of domesticated animals

[edit]

I found two errors on the article List of domesticated animals.

  • The domestic ferret, according to its own article, is now a species (Mustela furo). Therefore the word putorius has to be removed.
  • The section on the black swan has a photograph of a whooper swan and the photograph needs to be replaced with one of a black swan. Also, the black swan's scientific name needs to be written as Cygnus atratus.

I hope someone can please fix these errors.Mcfoureyes (talk) 09:21, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, whoever you are, for fixing the domestic ferret section! Now, all that needs to be done is to fix the black swan section and it's all set!Mcfoureyes (talk) 01:22, 5 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Now the Masai ostrich's scientific name needs to be fixed. It's Struthio camelus massaicus. And, according to its own Wikipedia article, it should be "Vinegar fly or lesser fruit fly". Please fix these two.Mcfoureyes (talk) 21:56, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

New information for Amalgam Comics Wikipedia article

[edit]

DC Comics has numbered Earth-Amalgam in its Multiverse. According to The Essential Wonder Woman Encyclopedia (2015) by Phil Jimenez and John Wells (Del Rey Books/Ballantine Books (978-0-385-36503-1)) it's Earth-496. This is mentioned in the W section and is in the category "Wallis, Angelica" on pg. 439.

If someone could add this information to the Amalgam Comics article, that'd be great!Mcfoureyes (talk) 22:12, 13 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Well. is anyone going to please put this information in the article? Anyone at all?Mcfoureyes (talk) 02:57, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No. And if you continue to use your talk page to attempt to get someone else to edit on your behalf, you will lose access to your talk page. This is deeply inappropriate. You are blocked, stop evading your block. --Yamla (talk) 11:13, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Block evasion

[edit]

This user made an unblock request at UTRS appeal #53396. At that point, I  Confirmed continued block evasion, which appears to have continued pretty much unabated. This user is therefore not a candidate for unblocking as they have violated WP:EVADE. I warned them their only chance is to stop evading their block and go at least six months with zero edits, then apply under WP:SO. --Yamla (talk) 11:10, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

All right then, just when is the six months going to happen? What exact date is it? And what makes you think I've even committed block evasion? Please delete this and any other accounts, IP addresses, etc. that you think I may have. In other words, I WANT OUT! You obviously want me gone, so I'm gone. If I want verbal abuse, I can get it elsewhere. I'm sick of being accused every time of crimes I didn't commit. I'd like proof beyond a reasonable doubt that I've done what you claim I've done, or to please be unblocked post haste, six months or no six months. If you can't, then go find someone else to make fun of. Good-bye, good luck and good riddance to bad rubbish!Mcfoureyes (talk) 03:56, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deepfriedokra 2023-09-10 16:37:55 Are you finished mucking about at Underworld Unleashed ? Thanks.
Deepfriedokra 2023-09-10 16:38:45 There are other concerns raised on your talk page. Please address them. Thanks.
Deepfriedokra 2023-09-10 17:01:57 Wait, you meant https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Special:Contributions/2600:1700:B570:3BD0:6C6C:7EA4:7ED0:944/64 ? You were just blocked again today? Really? In case you don't get it, every time you evade the block, you reset the six months counter. << https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&page=User%3A2600%3A1700%3AB570%3A3BD0%3A0%3A0%3A0%3A0%2F64&type=block >> You will not be eligible for unblocking until March 10, 2024, or thereabouts. Please read everything I wrote in this ticket. You will need to provide those answers. And thanks for making my job so easy. Once again. YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO EDIT WIKIPEDIA. YOU ARE NOT ENCTITLED TO EVADE YOUR BLOCK.
Deepfriedokra 2023-09-10 17:02:23 Leaving ticket open to see if there is a response.
(JBW 2023-09-10 20:33:35 On the basis of several statements by this editor, both on their talk page and at UTRS, it looks to me as though they sincerely think that when an IP block affecting them is over that means that they are allowed to go back to IP editing. Several times they have openly stated that they have returned to IP editing, without appearing to think there is anything wrong with doing so. They don't seem to get the point that as long as their account is blocked they aren't allowed to edit without logging in, and that being so they don't seem to understand that "evading a block" refers precisely to doing that. Hence comments such as "Please inform him of his mistake and please make sure this doesn't happen again" and " I don't like to be tricked". (Though how it can be both a mistake and a trick beats me. ))
Deepfriedokra 2023-09-11 15:27:43 Until THIS BLOCK is successfully appealed, on this account, you may not edit with or without an account. Doing so is block evasion. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:09, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deepfriedokra, it seems to me that you've gone beyond the call of duty for this editor. Just my opinion, but I think it's time to draw a line under this and warn Mcfoureyes that any more time-wasting UTRS requests are likely to adversely affect any eventual unblock request – users in his position may request an unblock after six months, but the community will evaluate the request based on past behaviour, and there more problems there are with that, the lower the chances of an unblock request being accepted. People are going to want to see (at least) six months with no disruptive behaviour whatsoever, right? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:59, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Incorrigible -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 19:05, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, indeed. I just noticed Special:Contributions/68.77.136.71 from January, for instance. Binksternet (talk) 20:26, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

More block evasion

[edit]

More Florida IPs are being used for block evasion. The range Special:Contributions/2600:1702:5609:5C00:0:0:0:0/64 has been making thousands of edits since September. Binksternet (talk) 04:58, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
