Pl. stop making unauthorized changes to Veera Ballala II article
[edit]Without inviting any one for discussion, you have made changes to the Veera Ballala II article which had been reported to admins and had been semi-protected through which the version which had contributions from various others including me had been deleted by you. I have noticed you are new to Wikipedia and would like to request you that before deciding to make changes and doing what you think is correct, kindly invite other contributors for discussions, in making clear your intention to change the article and come out with reasons for the same. After the objections and agreements of other contributors are recorded and a consensus reached, you can proceed with making changes, but after due process. Thanks.Srirangam99 (talk) 14:19, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- You cannot removed referenced sections without some proper justification - like some contradictory references. This diff looks very much like socking to me to avoid the semi-protection of the article, and I would advise against such actions. Ronhjones (Talk) 17:29, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
National Language (Official Langauge)
[edit]Hey Mayasandra, Hindi was mistakenly mentioned as national language in my edit comments. Instead, it should have been mentioned as Official Language of the Republic of India. I have undone your changes to all pages you have changed for this reason. Kindly do not remove Hindi (Devanagari) scripts from the pages. It is known that you have been removing Hindi references to certain pages without login. Any further attempts to repeat the same steps will be treated as vandalism and could consequent in blocking you from making edits to wikipedia pages. pdh 15:09, 19 February 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by PuttuHegde (talk • contribs)
Repeated removal of sourced info from Alupa dynasty article
[edit]I see that you are involved in an edit war in this article. I am not sure what you are trying to prove. Kannada was always the administrative language of the Alupas, just as it is today in South Canara region. I sincerely suggest you do some studying on the language of the Alupas before getting involving in more reverting. Tulu made its appearance late and briefly with a few scattered inscriptions starting from the 12th century (A.D. 1155). Best of Luck.Mayasandra (talk) 14:36, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
First thing is that the anonymous IP address bearer is removing the external references which mentions Tulu as administrative language. The info is about common languages not administrative languages in the info box. I suspect you are the same person who is removing external references about Tulu being administrative language without login. You have been already warned for such similar actions mentioned previously regarding National language(Official language). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Angeluser (talk • contribs) 12:31, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
- If you are implying that I am that IP reverting Alupa dynasty, then you are wrong. Secondly, that section is about administrative language of a Kingdom, not common language. Thirdly, dont tryo to connect a 2014 discussion with a 2020 one.Mayasandra (talk) 15:43, 9 May 2020 (UTC)
About renaming Bangalore to Bengaluru
[edit]Hi, I saw your comments on Indian Government refusing to rename Bangalore to Bengaluru on Talk page of “Sagara, Karnataka”. I was very closely involved in the matter and always supported renaming the city to Bengaluru. I am writing this to inform you about the prevalent misconception about why the Central Government has kept the matter on hold. It is not the popularity of Bangalore in international outsourcing business nor is it the element that some entrepreneurs in Bangalore opposed it. At times, more popular cities like Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata were renamed by the same government. Karnataka had sent a list of 13 cities to the Centre for renaming. Bangalore-Bengaluru, Mysore-Mysuru, Mangalore-Mangaluru, Belgaum-Belagavi, Gulbarga-Kalaburgi, Hubli-Hubballi, Shimoga-Shivamogga, Chikmagalur-Chikkamagaluru, Bellary-Ballary, Bijapur-Vijapura, Hospet-Hosapete, Tumkur-Tumakuru, Kaup-Kapu. Since Belgaum is caught between Karnataka and Maharashtra, the Centre has rejected to rename Belgaum owing to opposition from Maharashtra. This contention has kept the entire list on hold. No action has taken place on this matter from Karnataka’s side ever since BJP came to power. Political leadership in Karnataka has lost interest on this. I visited Karnataka Rakshana Vedike’s Bangalore main office umpteen number of times to urge them to take up this matter, but they had different priorities at that moment. Now that I do not stay in India, reaching them through electronic media is not giving desired results. Because there is a process in place to rename a town in India, I have been requesting you and user IMC to follow that process and then use the spelling on Wikipedia. That way, we can provide the readers with the right information without getting drifted away. pdh 18:04, 24 February 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by PuttuHegde (talk • contribs)
Just want to add that Indian Government had tasked Archaeological Survey of India with submitting a detailed report on what should be the correct spelling of Bangalore (Bengaluru? Bengalooru?) a couple of years back and the agency has already submitted the report last year. The central government has every detail to take a decision on renaming Bangalore. Only a push is required from citizens and Karnataka government to remove the "On hold" status of the earlier application. As per the latest information received from the Central Ministry of Urban Development, the ministry was ready to approve 12 city names except Belgaum. A little movement from Kannadigas and Kannada Groups in Bangalore will make a big difference. PuttuHegde pdh 04:35, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Kannada language may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Carnatic Music
[edit]Hi Mayasandra, didn't quite understand what you meant by eliminating old citations. I haven't eliminated any. Just added a paragraph with citations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Reddishmariposa (talk • contribs) 14:49, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
- Your citations from blog cites don't satisfy wiki guidelines. You have to support important statements with book citations, authored by well known experts on the subject. Web pages are acceptable so long as they are supported by book citations too. "The eliminating citation" remark was an additional piece of info for new editors who generally blow away old data to present new data. If you can bring book citations, then you can possibly edit the line to read like this: "Carnatic music was patronized by the local kings of the Kingdom of Tanjavur, Mysore and Travancore during ......". "After the fall of the Nayakas of Tanjavur, the tradition was continued by the Marathas who took control of the region in the 17th century." Keep in mind that Carnatic music, both vocal and instrumental were popular in the Kingdom of Mysore and Travancore right from the 17th century, but reached a peak in the 18th and 20th century.Mayasandra (talk) 19:56, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
