Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Maximus Carontus requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. roleplayer 09:24, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • A couple of things I noticed about the article:

First, it clearly failed WP:BIO, as there was no assertion of the significance or importance of the subject. There were certainly no tangible, verifiable claims, although there were the vague "best marketing groups in town for the dollar" sort. Any kind of a claim like that needs to be backed up by a reliable source. If the company gets written up in the Tribune, then that's a reliable source.

Second, based on your username, it appears that you are the subject or are related to him, so that creates a conflict of interest. In those situations, you aren't forbidden from editing an article about yourself, but you must edit carefully, making sure to keep neutral point of view (which your article didn't have) and sticking to verifiable information. The general rule of thumb, though, is to never write an article about yourself. —C.Fred (talk) 17:05, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like C.Fred has already given you the advice that you may need about the article. If you can find newspaper or magazine articles on the person, then be sure to include those. You may actually want to write about yourself as a userpage at User:Maxcarpro. I can userfy the article you wrote to User:Maxcarpro/Maximus Carontus so thatyou can do te necessary improvements. A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Maxcarpro/Maximus Carontus, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
