Speedy deletion of Good measure
[edit]A tag has been placed on Good measure requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Welcome
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. To find out more about how to make useful contributions, take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on notability for an explanation of what that means. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are deleted. Follow the links below to learn more:
- To find out more about creating articles, read the introduction, tutorial, and guide to creating your first article.
- Do not write articles about yourself, your company, your band, or your best friend - that's a conflict of interest.
- For experiments, please use the sandbox. JohnCD (talk) 12:33, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Closet smoker
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Closet smoker, because another editor is suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. Don't be discouraged, but look at WP:STUB to understand Wikipedia's minimum requirements for short articles, and at WP:NOT for the list of things that Wikipedia is not, including "Wikipedia is not a dictionary", i.e. an article must do more than just give the definition of a word. Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Mattm64! Your additions to Luckin Coffee have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:23, 20 December 2021 (UTC)

. Drmies (talk) 17:12, 21 December 2021 (UTC)- {{unblock|reason=I respectfully request to be unblocked from editing Luckin Coffee. I believe the original block was completely unnecessary, as I have no conflict of interest on this page. Rather, I was researching the Luckin Coffee restructuring saga and found the current page to be wildly out of date (they exited chapter 15 bankruptcy, discharged the provisional liquidators, and also repaid their bonds, yet none of this is reflected on the page. It is nearly a year out of date). I follow the coffee industry worldwide and thought I could contribute some things as this page did not seem to be updated regularly (unlike the dutch brothers or starbucks pages). I will make sure that edits in the future are clearly annotated with sources and refrain from using charged language.} Mattm64 (talk) 02:09, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

Old malformed unblock request

Request reason:
I respectfully request to be unblocked from editing site-wide. While I believe the original block was completely unnecessary, I have no conflict of interest nor hidden agenda in editing. Decline reason:
That addresses one part of the problem (provided one takes what you're saying at face value, and I suppose it could be just an interest of yours). However, you also introduced a massive amount of material into that article which had to be deleted as a copyright violation. You would also need to demonstrate understanding of what constitutes a copyright violation, why we don't permit that, and how to avoid that going forward. Seraphimblade Talk to me 08:53, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
Note: I just copy-pasted this from above, as Mattm appears to have forgotten the closing }}. Let me know if this is a bad idea to do in the future for cases so old (a bit over 9 months here). Skarmory (talk • contribs) 11:26, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
