Nice pics!

[edit]

I saw your post on the HelpDesk and thought I'd check out your photos. They're some nice pics!

What I suggest you do, though is:

1) Upload them to the Wikipedia Commons, where the images can be used by other-language Wikipedias. You include them just the same, ie, if MYPIC.JPG doesn't exist on english Wikipedia and does on the Commons, [[image:MYPIC.JPG]] will show the commons image.

2) If you want, you can create a personal gallery of your photos. To find out how to create a gallery, see Help:Gallery. You can then sign your name on Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Photographers with a link to your gallery.

Otherwise, welcome aboard! I hope you enjoy it! jnothman talk 09:44, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Matt. I would also like to encourage you to upload your pictures at commons! :)
You should read commons:Commons:First steps before you start, though, and use commons:Template:Information to fill out the summary information. Also have a look at a tool called CommonSense, which can suggest categories for you to put your image in (and please always categorise your images... otherwise they become 'orphans' that are very hard to find). My account over there is commons:User:pfctdayelise, drop me a line if you have questions, here or there (about commons or wp). Cheers! pfctdayelise 11:41, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Positano-above.jpg

[edit]

File:Positano-above.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Positano-above.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Positano-above.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 02:41, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
