[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Minister Božidar Đelić with students of Matematička gimnazija.jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

Thanks for uploading File:Dream Team od Matematička gimnazija - 7 students from same D-department of Matematička gimnazija, won 7 full scholarships from Trinity College - Cambridge.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Uploading free images to Wikimedia Commons

[edit]

Thank you for uploading free images/media to Wikipedia! As you may know, there is another Wikimedia Foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In the future, please upload media there instead (see m:Help:Unified login). That way, all of the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons (you may view previous uploads by going to your user contributions on the left and choosing the 'file' namespace from the drop down box (or see [1]). Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading! Quibik (talk) 15:54, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Matematička gimnazija - MG - Dušan Milijančević.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 11:57, 17 July 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:57, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Did you forget to add a license tag for this image when uploading.?

Wikipedia takes copyrights seriously, so images need to have an appropriate license tag

You may wish to read Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags/All and Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#For_image_creators which will assist you :) Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:04, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Matematička gimnazija - MG - School Logo - small.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Matematička gimnazija - MG - School Logo - small.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:21, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Matematička gimnazija - MG - Patriarch Irinej.jpg

Images and more

[edit]

I wanted to apologize for the deletion notice spam on the talk page, that was not my goal. Feel free to delete them. I just wanted you to be aware of the images that have been tagged. The images you uploaded have already been delete once. Please take note of the problem: the images lack any source and author information. All images uploaded on Wikipedia must include information on the author (the owner of the copyright: the photographer) and if you are not the author then also the source of the image. I should also remind, that the authorship of the images can not be simply attributed to Matematička gimnazija: the photographers must have given an explicit agreement to license the images with the one that you uploaded them with. If you are not the author (as in person, not organization), then the permission must be confirmed via WP:OTRS. I am sorry if all this sounds overly bureaucratic, but Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Please upload the images to Wikimedia Commons, if you do, in the future. That way the images are also accessible to other Wikipedias (i.e. Serbian) and are easier to find. I'll be glad to help out with that, if needed. Also, about the image of the school logo: why not license that image with a free license too (that way it can be used on other language Wikipedias too, for example)?

I should also mention that using organizational usernames is frowned upon and they are usually banned on Wikipedia (though I have chosen not to report the issue to any administrators in this case): please see WP:ORGNAME. Quibik (talk) 23:48, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your kind help and notifications. Rules are rules, and we must obey them.

In my real life I don't have those "copyright" problems you mentioned, since every picture I take, and every picture I post anywhere (be it printed material or internet) are free to use, without any restrictions whatsoever.

The same goes with MG website: everything published there is free for use, including copy, modify and distribute, to anyone; no limits whatsoever. That's why I attributed Matematička gimnazija. I can change that, if you like, but now can't remember which pictures were attributed to MG. :-)

I could use some help in future, with uploading images to Wikimedia Commons ... thank you. Mategim (talk) 01:37, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Also, about the image of the school logo: why not license that image with a free license too (that way it can be used on other language Wikipedias too, for example)?" Quibik (talk) 23:48, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can you send me (here, or email) a code that I could/should include (i.e. copy/paste) to appropriate place, so that the logo becomes free licensed? Thank you in advance. Mategim (talk) 01:37, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As for the school's article: I am happy to see interest in developing the article from the school, but this brings forth a serious issue: please see WP:conflict of interest. I have indicated the problem with a tag on the article. And I have to say that to me the article indeed looks far from neutral. This can only be alleviated by willing, unrelated editors going over the article. I unfortunately don't feel that I have the time or interest to go into that great depth with this article. But I hope someone else will. —Quibik (talk) 23:48, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your sincere opinion. It may seem odd to have one mayor contributor for a school with such results, I agree with you. However, it seems even more strange not to have any contributors (to article about Matematička gimnazija) at all, isn't it? That's why I decided to put some work on this and, hopefully, other people will join and maintain this effort.

About "far from neutral" remark... I truly appreciate your frankness, but everything stated in the article is true. It is simply collected from Monograph of Matematička gimnazija, published for its 40th anniversary, then 44th anniversary, from MG website, from major TV stations and newspapers, as well as from Serbian President's and Belgrade City Mayor's press releases.

Matematička gimnazija really is special school with results as described. It may seem not to be neutral, but I have put only facts in the article. For instance, 2 weeks ago, Serbian national team for the International Olympiad in Mathematics, comprised of 6 students, all of whom are from Matematička gimnazija, won 1 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Link is given in the article. In 2009, MG students won 25 medals only at IMO, IPhO, Int. Olympiad in Informatics, I.O. in Astronomy, I.O. in Astrophysics, and I.O. in Earth Sciences. in 2010 Cambridge University gave 7 FULL scholarships to 7 students from D-department of the final year of MG. You know that Cambridge never gave 7 scholarships to a WORLD REGION, not to mention to ONE COUNTRY, or ONE SCHOOL. Since it happens that every year students from MG score among the best at Cambridge (and not only Cambridge), people from Cambridge (and director of Cambridge Trust) visited MG to see what MG looks like and how comes so many talented students come from this one school. There is a link about that story, too.

How comes I am the only contributor? Because Serbia is former communist and still a socialist country (in a sad transition to a cowboy capitalism), so people have no need for marketing; MG works just fine even without marketing, its students are admitted to MIT, Oxbridge, etc., even though MG has website only in Serbian, and, finally, MG is not a member of any international (or domestic) alliance ... except one international society for schools for gifted pupils. That says much about MG (and Serbian) management style: it seems they don't feel the need for marketing. :-) I understand it may seem bizarre to achieve such results and then have no presentation in English, or have no article on Wikipedia, but, hey, it's just the way it is with MG and n Serbia: things are doing well and no one from MG has the time, nor the motivation, to work on the translation of the website, or to make a good article on Wikipedia.

Please feel free to check all the information stated in this article, and compare it to official sources. Mategim (talk) 01:37, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, in the meantime, since the last update of MG article, Serbian national team won 5 medals at the International Physics Plympiad (IPhO); 5 members team comprised of 4 students from Matematička gimnazija, and 1 student from special school for informatics. All students won medals. :-) I guess we'll have to update the article, but I'll leave it to someone else this time (if nothing else - I will not be having internet for a while; going out of the city). :-)

Also, best student of Matematička gimnazija will be Serbian representative at the "Youth Olympics" that will be held this year (and for the first time). I think it will take place in Singapore, 14-26 August 2010, and in Berlin (as a European host city). I will ask people from MG to update this Wikipedia article with those new information.

Also, there will be other competitions this summer, so more results are to come...

I guess now that we have this basic article, other people will start to contribute regularly.

I thank you for your remarks, though; I understand your position and I'm glad Wikipedia works that way.

Please tell me if everything is okay with images now (i.e. if they are not going to be deleted). Thank you. Mategim (talk) 01:49, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What's going on now??? While I'm talking here, someone is deleting all the files from MG article. Why?!? I tried to put "hangon" tag, but someone was sooo on a hurry to delete the images that he/she deleted them before I had the chance to write down my explanation (please see: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File_talk:Matematička_gimnazija_-_MG_-_Patriarch_Irinej.jpg) Mategim (talk) 02:14, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

From one of the deleted pictures explanation:

"The picture IS at MG website, but I have put it there and it's free for anyone to use it.

If you have any doubts or questions, please contact me directly on my email (since I am leaving and will return only in 10 days ... perhaps too late to prevent the deletion ... and can not see what will be written here in the meantime), or contact MG officials (e-mail can be found at MG website), or ask me and I can provide you (not at this public page, of course) an email address of MG website administrator (@mi.sanu.ac.rs, Mathematical Institute of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts), or email address of MG Principal (Mr. Srđan Ognjanović), so that they can clarify this matter.

Once again: every picture I put here or anywhere else on internet or in printed materials ... is FREE; free to use, distribute, change, or do whatever one wants, without any prior consent, notification, credits, rights, money, or whatsoever. Free, like a bird.

So, please, stop deleting pictures from article about Matematička gimnazija (MG), since all pictures are free to use them and I am happy if people use them.

Please tell me what should I do next, if this answer does not satisfy you.

Thank you." Mategim (talk) 02:16, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A brief response to the image issues. The images were deleted because there is no confirmation that you are the copyright owner and not simply copying the images from the school website. I do believe you, but that is not enough. You have to confirm the permission to reuse these images with the given license. There are two ways to accomplish this: (a) you add the licensing information to the school's website (for example add a small license notice stating that the website's contents or images can be used with a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) license or are in the public domain altogether ; http://creativecommons.org/choose/ might be helpful), (b) follow the procedures detailed in Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries, Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission might help too. Either method will work. Unfortunately I probably won't be able to help you with any questions you might still have in the following week, since I will be offline. But I hope that the image issues can be cleared with the information I just provided. Best wishes, Quibik (talk) 19:46, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. The article Srđan Ognjanović has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Mathematical Gymnasium Belgrade: please add new photos

[edit]

I've checked all the data at the article you started (Mathematical Gymnasium Belgrade) and rearranged it in a manner it now looks more like Wikipedia page. :-) I've shortened the lead and added new info and updated old and outdated info, plus added new subcategories and sub-chapters in the article. Please check the changes I've done and help make the page better.

Also, please add new photographs (if you have any), and give your opinion on this significant edit.

Thanks.

Non-free rationale for File:Modelling, Pricing, and Hedging Counterparty Credit Exposure - Zlatko Filipović - Mathematical Gymnasium Belgrade - UBS Investment Bank - London.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Modelling, Pricing, and Hedging Counterparty Credit Exposure - Zlatko Filipović - Mathematical Gymnasium Belgrade - UBS Investment Bank - London.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. File permission problem with File:Matematička gimnazija - MG - School of Special National Interest.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Matematička gimnazija - MG - School of Special National Interest.jpg.

If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:08, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
