This is fallout from bug 5463. Click the image, then click through to Commons, and append ?action=purge to the URL and load the image description page. Then go back to the page with the shield and purge the same way, and if necessary do a hard refresh (ctrl-shift-R or ctrl-F5). --SPUI (T - C) 22:29, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Infobox Wisconsin State Highway
An editor has nominated the template Template:Infobox Wisconsin State Highway (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) for deletion, under the templates for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the nomination. Your opinions on why the topic of the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome: participate in the discussion by editing Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Log/2006 July 21. Add four tildes like this ˜˜˜˜ to sign your comments. You can also edit the article Template:Infobox Wisconsin State Highway (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) during the discussion, but do not remove the "Template for Deletion" template (the box at the top of the template); this will not end the deletion debate. - Thanks for the heads up with the junction boxes... Not much of a guideline about what's considered "major". No biggie; I'm not doing this for glory, I'm doing this for information. -jwhouk 05:49, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks again for the Infobox junction guidelines. With WIS 83, though, it gets a bit tedious because it winds through so much of SE Wisconsin.-jwhouk 03:45, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
I-57
It was the preliminary number for I-43 north of Milwaukee. See Image:Interstate Highway plan October 1, 1970.jpg. --SPUI (T - C) 20:31, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Copyright violation
You copied text from [1] into Highway 39 (Wisconsin). Please do not do this; it is illegal and reflects badly on the project. --SPUI (T - C) 23:29, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
I have also removed copied text from WIS 36 and WIS 13. --SPUI (T - C) 23:38, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the point-out and for correcting. Can you look at WIS 47 as I got a blurb about the long cosigning but very shortened and brief. Is that a violation? Thanks in advance
- It was a stupid mistake on my part and I should have known better on the two you saw. --master_sonLets talk 20:29, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- 47 looks fine - I don't see anything directly copied over. Always at least reword it like that; you may also want to look at a map, write about it, and then check against Wisconsin Highways for a second opinion. --SPUI (T - C) 20:47, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
stub
Well none of the other states use that intheir highway projects. It'd be better if they went in roads as it's easier to sort out later. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 22:46, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- ahh, see's the light. :) Well at the rate we're going there may be a stub for the highways by next month... :D --master_sonLets talk 03:38, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Yeah - those are an older system still used for some states. In theory long routes like I-90 will eventually be split by state (like I-95 is). --SPUI (T - C) 00:01, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- The Interstate and state infoboxes are very similar, so you could use state=WI type=Interstate. --SPUI (T - C) 00:08, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

User infobox - Yours vs. mine
Hello there...
Could you tell me the differences between your user infobox and mine? I would really like to know the changes you have made so that I might be able to make mine better. You can edit the one in my user space as much as you desire to make it better. I do not mind one bit. I am hoping to get this to the point where I can copy it over to Template:User infobox which has a lot fewer features. - LA @ 04:56, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

-road-stub/-Route-stub, etc templates...
I agree, changed each of the ones you mentioned. Mind you, in one case I couldn't move it to the category page, as... there was no category page. (For Vermont, I've now proposed it at WP:WSS/P.) Alai 02:09, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Fair use?
I think that if there is absolutely no other way to reproduce it, it would be fair use... but I could be wrong, I really don't deal with images that much... --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 01:48, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
UW-Platteville alumni
You can find out what are some famous UW-Platteville alumni by going to the article, then look in the lower left hand corner and click on "What links here". I used that to add alumni to my alma mater at UW-Oshkosh. I found it interesting to do my college, so I'll let you enjoy doing yours ;-) . There are several with articles in Wikipedia. I still don't see an image in the article, and the leaves are perfect here right now.
I see that you are an IT student too. I graduated from UW-O with a computer science minor in 1991. I have returned to school at Fox Valley Technical College to get into the IT-Networking field, and I graduate in May. Royalbroil Talk Contrib 01:52, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
University of Wisconsin move
Can you be specific as to what templates are now broken? Andrewa 22:01, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Aha! Yes, I hadn't noticed the use of en-dash in the article title I copied and pasted. Thanks for pointing it out, it explains a lot. Fixed now I think... was that the problem with the templates too? Andrewa 01:22, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Template links
I'm not sure what you mean by consistency - every subtemplate has a different link so that the subtemplate can be edited. By changing them all to "NC", that broke the edit links for every template and allows only one subtemplate, "NC" to be edited. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 17:21, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Wait, I think I see what you meant - you wanted to make the edit/history/watch links consistent across all of the templates. You forgot to change the links to the correct target, however. Still, I appreciate the effort. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 17:24, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
Infoboxes
I don't want to force a state to comply with IBR, although it would be encouraged. A taskforce might be a good idea... Interstate and U.S. Routes are actually based off IBR (if you look at the coding, that's where it leads) I'm not sure what county routes use (I know one of the WP:CACR ones uses IBR)... But yeah we p[robably should get this addressed. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 18:53, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
South Dakota shields
Could you look over the shields that you have created for SD. I have fixed quite a few. On some you forgot to convert the text to path. Most of them show the lines when you made the background of the shields. Also, could you resize the images, you made them quite huge. 385px x 385px is a good size for 2 digit signs and 385px x 480px are good for 3 digit signs. Also, you have Nebraska on all them, looks like a simple copy/paste error. Thanks. --Holderca1 23:15, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- I will take a look at it tonight. Not sure what the problem might be, I have never seen it do that before. --Holderca1 16:53, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

The style was not fine. It had a large amount of random background colouring, and didn't use the infobox class. ed g2s • talk 20:56, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
- "Didn't use the infobox class"? Last time I checked, that wasn't a requirement for infoboxes. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 20:59, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Re: User: ed g2s and Infobox road
Eh, possibly; but focusing on that seems a little premature at this point. I think it would be more productive to consider that to be a heat-of-the-moment thing, and to concentrate on discussing the layout of the template, rather than turning this into a full-blown ArbCom-worthy conduct dispute. (For the time being, anyways; I'm obviously assuming that the revert war won't continue here.) Kirill Lokshin 21:36, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
Interstate 94 mess
Yeah, I agree, the whole I-94 set of articles is a disaster. Umm... here's my thoughts:
- Interstate 94 - summary, should follow WP:IH standards
- Interstate 94 in X - detail, except in Illinois and similar states, where it will be a brief description/disambiguation. But, interchange list here, along with notes on where various segments begin.
Tri-State Tollway, etc. - exit lists here, too; history, detail
I know it's repeating information, but after initial setup, it shouldn't be that bad, and it shouldn't require any sort of template inclusions to try to make it more efficient. If an exit is added to the Tri-State, the fix is made on two articles.
Anyways, that's how I thought about proceeding. —Rob (talk) 22:56, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- Now that I think about it, I think it makes sense to create redirects for all of the detail articles (Kingery Expressway, etc.) I created the interchange list for Tri-State Tollway and had the interchange section for Interstate 294 point to that list. So I'll do the same thing, but point the interchange section for Kingery Expressway to Interstate 94 in Illinois (smaller to larger article).
- Hope that makes sense! —Rob (talk) 17:54, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- That's true... in that case both Interstate 90 in Illinois and Interstate 94 in Illinois should have complete interchange lists, separated by subsections. We'll leave Tri-State Tollway as it is because it's larger than Interstate 294 and it doesn't make any sense to just have exit lists for I-294. —Rob (talk) 21:06, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Wha?
Well, I added another infobox on the Utah State Route 186 page, and when it wouldn't appear again, I checked Rschen's page, and I really didn't understand what you meant. Can you tell me exactly how to do it so when I add another infobox, I don't have to bother you again? Thanks - •The RSJ• Talk | Sign Here 00:32, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- Click on the image location (the finger mouse cursor will appear when you hover over the "image") or Image:Utah_SR_186.svg here.
- You'll see a box that says "This is a file from the Wikimedia Commons. The description on its description page there is shown below." Click on "its description page" to go to it.
- Click on the Image name below the image. that will take you to the raw image.
- type "?action=purge" at the end of the url. - highlight that portion and copy it (ctrl-c on a pc, cmd-c on a Mac)
- hit enter to follow the link.
- click your back button on your browser twice. You should be at the Commons page with the image and its description.
- Paste "?action=purge" at the end of the url again and press enter or click the "Go" (->) button to follow the url.
- hit your back button twice. You should be at Wikipedia's description for the image.
- hit the back button once more to take you to the article page.
- reload the page. That should show the image, if not bypass your browser's cache (ctrl+F5) for Mozilla Firefox.
- if any of the reloading options don't work, do the "?action=purge" matter on the route's page (same as above) • master_sonLets talk 02:23, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

U.S. Route 10 exchanges
Here are the exchanges on U.S. Route 10 starting from U.S. Route 41 that my friend wrote down on her drive from Fox Valley Technical College to her home in the Wild Rose area:
- County CB
- 76 (Oshkosh/Shiocton)
- 45 South (Oshkosh) - I took the pic of this one
- 45 North (New London)
- 96/110/II Fremont
- 49/110 Berlin, Fremont
- County F (Weyauwega)
- 110 NX (Weyauwega)
- A Appletree Lane
- 22North/54East (Waupaca)
- 22South (Wild Rose)
There are many crossroads that are not exchanges. She will be driving the rest to Stevens Point in the next few weeks, so I'll contact you then. Good luck on your classes! Royalbroil T : C 05:17, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Shield request
I would like to request a shield for Iowa Highway 965. I made a png a while ago, but it never got made into an svg. --Station Attendant 17:24, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
I suppose including the U.S. and Interstate routes at the bottom of the list would be okay. Actually, it seems like a good idea now. But I'm not sure I like having the U.S. and Interstates in the routebox navigation bar. It says "Minnesota State Highways" directly above that, so it looks strange to have a U.S. route pop up there, especially since there are some cases where the routes numbers are duplicated.
Also, on some of the routes that were renumbered to another highway in their entirety, I have redirected and tried to make note of the old route in the new route's article.
There are a few svg images that still need to be made. I thought I had gone through and put every state highway ever in use on that list long ago, but I guess I didn't. Anything with a blank new-style shield next to it on the list needs a svg. However, there are cases where there are two (or three!) decommissioned routes on one number. For example, Highway 17 had three different routes, all used in different eras and therefore different shields. On Highway 116, I used the old shield because the later route was a temporary designation. Let me know what you think about this.
One last thing: Would you say the MN-218 article I have been working on in userspace is an acceptable article? I don't want to stick that out there if there's a chance it will attract more deletion debates. --Sable232 18:20, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
Iowa articles
I was going to start creating articles for some of the red linked Iowa Highways, but I didn't want to have them all sent to AFD. Are all of the highways listed on the list of Iowa Highways notable enough to have an article? Also, I started one for Iowa 105 (Decommissioned) at my sandbox (Last time I made an article for a decommissioned highway it raised a ruckus). Could you take a look at it for me, then I will move it to a separate article. --Station Attendant 22:50, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
- Seeing as that the article describes a unique situation for the state - namely the "odd county route marker" I would say go ahead and do it. As for other decommissioned articles - perhaps maybe a redirect to its replacement provided its replaced in its entirety by a state, US or Interstate. RSchen7754, TwinsMetsFan, Vishwin60, and other highly active users lobbied vigoursly and the articles that were sent to AFD were kept. I would say go ahead. I had been creating stubs even after the fiasco started. • master_sonLets talk 23:32, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

West Virginia shield for stubs
I hope you don't mind, but I did alter the image you created for West Virginia road stubs. (WestVirginia-road-stub). Because our standard shield is so boring (and can be confused with other states), I have created a silhouette image of the State's borders and centered it within the shield. If you really don't like it (for any reason), please feel free to move it and accept my apologies. I'm a WV and I've never liked the shield design. Mphamilton 22:58, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- I cannot accept it - it is a JPEG image for one - all our images are SVG images - and also it goes against the idea of this being an encyclopedia - where the images must be sourced. I am reverting it back.• master_sonLets talk 00:31, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- I do understand your reasoning, but I wanted to make the request anyway. I guess I will alter my image and utilize it for something else. Minnesota Highway Shields
I noticed you've been replacing the historic shields with the modern blue ones. This can't happen. It's misleading to put the modern shield on an article when the highway was decommissioned long before that style was used. In that case I see it as better to have no shield at all than an incorrect one, but I still don't see what the problem with mine is. --Sable232 14:10, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- I have to agree with Sable. I don't see any reason why current shields have to be used. -- NORTH talk 07:29, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- I also agree and reverted the change on Minnesota State Highway 118. Also see Texas State Highway 2 for another article that uses an older shield. --Holderca1 20:46, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- I suppose older shields can be used if desired, especially if the old shields are SVGs as well. This isn't something that should be mandatory either way (for current or for old on decom'd routes), that's for sure - take New York State Route 31C, a decommissioned route. Should a 1950s-esque shield be used on it? No, it was decommissioned in 2002 and used the NY 31C shield shown on the page. The moral is that it's something that should be decided on a state-by-state basis and then on a case-by-case basis. --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 20:54, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- Sable, North - whichever ones I did change, if not already done, go ahead and revert them. We should also look into getting the old images into SVG. I'll help with that. -- master_sonTalk - Edits 22:21, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- I was afraid this would happen. The new SVGs you made don't show up correctly at 20px. --Sable232 20:00, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- What's wrong with them? I had to fix MN 93 though since I forgot to convert text to path, so if you purge the image, it will be better. -- master_sonTalk - Edits 20:05, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Highway photos
Regarding [2] and [3], whether you've "seen worse" is irrelevant. These photos are of very poor quality, and don't really add anything of encyclopedic value (compared to overhead views, etc). Wikipedia is not and indiscriminate collection of information, and that includes crappy photos. Not a dog 20:54, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- OK, then may I suggest trans-wiki them to Commons and place a {{Commons}} or {{Commonscat}} on these pages? -- master_sonTalk - Edits 21:56, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

problem with your changes to Wisc. highway articles (using AWB)
Here, as well as probably in every other Wisc. Highways articles, you created a problem... I've fixed it in the Hwy 183[4] and 184[5] articles, but I don't have time to go through and fix all of them. As you can see, your changes to the URLs have left them malformed (the # has been removed, resulting in urls that point to pages/files that no browser could recognize; the directory is misnamed ("listing" instead of "listings", as it should be), and the pages/filenames are misnamed (They now say "WiscHighways" instead of the correct "WiscHwys"). If I knew how to use AWB, I'd go ahead and fix it myself...while I toss about looking for the time to learn, tho, "someone" really should fix the problems... Cheers, Tomertalk 03:42, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- oops - thanks for pointing it out - I ran AWB over them and they're now fixed-- master_sonTalk - Edits 05:07, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- Looks grand. Good work. Kudos. &. :-) Tomertalk 23:38, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Improper Link / Userbox
On User:Master son/pageTop, the 'Tools' Image link leads you to an edit page and not the actual page, oh and by the way, did you use my AMD Sempron Processor Userbox and change it to be an AMD Turion ? Rugby471 14:15, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
- actually yeah - if there's a problem, let me know and I can change or lose it. -- master_sonTalk - Edits 16:38, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
No No, don't worry, I just wanted to know :-)
- Probably might not be a bad idea to put all of the AMD userboxes together and use wikicode for selecting a processor either, but that would be a down-the road issue to me. If you want to do that, feel free 8) --
I think I will do that, currently I am just asking for the other AMD Userboxes' Creators if that is OK BTW for your sig, you don't need to type the code in all the time, you can just use {{User:Master son/sig}} like this ' • master_sonTalk - Edits ' Rugby471 17:35, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have it stored in my default sig property so I can do the four tildes though and that doesn't accept templates. hopefully it will eventually ;) -- master_sonTalk - Edits 18:33, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Done ! I've just finished the AMD UBX, it is located here ! As you may have seen, i've added a notice to your particular AMD UBX to say that it has been made obselete by the new one, if you have any problems with this, please contact me ! :-) Rugby471 09:09, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I protected your talk page about 4 months ago. I was just checking up to see if you still required protection for it. If you don't, than you can just leave a message on my talk page. Cheers! -Royalguard11(Talk·Review Me!) 03:52, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
