My signature follows the guidelines at <Wikipedia:Signatures> # Appearance and color.

<^> Yes, typically.
Though the point is not really about the signature...
And whether the hyphen is part of the signature or formatting appears to be undetermined.

This is a ridiculous argument. Do not edit my signature. Thank you.
.
I refuse to get into a pedantic argument. The dash has been part of my signature for decades.
Do not edit any other user's signature. I find it quite offensive. This is the last comment I will say on the matter.

The point was never about argument, but truth.
Definition rigorousness is the basis of efficiency: trying to circumvent this complexity would either end in greater complexity or utter confusion.
Details constitute matters. Without details, there'd be nothing.
Changing "hike395" to "Hike395" simply because various interfaces of Wikimedia reported it to be "Hike395".
As using "hike395" instead as the query term doesn't seem to cause much problem: I shall no more bother it.
But probably you should complain to MediaWiki's implementers if that really irritates you much...
