Editing Wikipedia[edit]

Hello Martyna, thanks for joining Wikipedia! I notice that you seem to say in your user name that you work at a PR company.

This isn't necessarily a problem, but if this is so, you must immediately file a disclosure statement explaining any "conflict of interest" to ensure transparency. You should also ensure that all your edits are factual and cannot be considered in any way promotional, and are in every case backed up by citations demonstrating them to be true. That's a link on how to do it and here's an example of what a disclosure looks like - but let me know if you have any kind of questions about this, privately by email is fine if you’re having problems. An automated message explaining this is added below. Blythwood (talk) 05:18, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Martynaatlindyjohnson. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.

Martynaatlindyjohnson (talk) 05:35, 28 September 2016 (UTC) Hi. Just wondering if you can advise how to edit this page best?[reply]

Hi Martyna. As I said, if you plan to make further edits you must put a "disclosure statement" on the article's talk page explaining that you work for a PR firm and (I presume) that you've been paid to write this article. Above all, don't add any material that could be considered promotional - Wikipedia articles are meant to be neutral and sourced to published information. So "the firm has worked on this project [citation to news article]" is fine. Please do not add any further text like "The practice is known for its focus on ideas, innovation and creativity", though, this would probably get you blocked and the article deleted as advertising in short order. September 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Fedelis4198. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Wilson Architects have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. The information you added seems to border promoting the subject. The info doesn't have references at all and most are trivial awards that don't belong on Wikipedia. February 2017[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Blythwood (talk) 04:34, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of M3architecture[edit]

The article M3architecture has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Self-authored article, text is almost entirely a list of largely regional industry awards.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
