Sock

[edit]

You're a sock. Care to come clean and tell us whose, or shall we have fun guessing? William M. Connolley (talk) 21:55, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And the above, ladies and gentlemen, was my personalised welcome to Wikipedia. Fortunately the talk page guidelines specifically ban that sort of thing so it probably never happened....no..wait.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Martin Audley (talkcontribs) 15:49, April 26, 2010 (UTC)

Your intro was from Nsaa, above. He isn't too fond of me, so you could ask him how to complain. Or you could post a complaint on my talk page, plenty of people watch there including admins who aren't too fond of me. As to the socky-ness: your very first edit [1] was to vote in a discussion, and was perfectly formatted. This is really rather uncommon for a newbie. I commented that this was your first edit, which is a fairly usual thing to do when newbies suddenly show up in a vote. Your next was to complain about this, quoting WP:AGF, which newbies don't know about. None of this matters a great deal though. If you really have gained your experience from extensive editing as an anon (don't tell us which one, we don't want to know) that that would explain your familiarity. In which case I'll withdraw any imputation that you are an existing editor edting under a second name. Hopefully you'll settle down and make useful edits and put this unpleasantness behind you William M. Connolley (talk) 23:22, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think Martin is the one that needs to settle down. SkipSmith (talk) 07:32, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as at Talk:List of cryptocurrencies, (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Please reply to me with {{SUBST:Replyto|Can I Log In}} in the beginning of your reply, and use one more colon (" : ") than me under my message. Can I Log In 20:14, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
