User talk:MartinLubell/sandbox
Creating my 3rd sandbox page.
[edit]To myself: I am a little confused, because I know I started another sandbox where I wrote my synopsis of the 5 pillars of Wikipedia. I also created another talk page, probably under section 82. I'll try to see if it is listed under my name. MartinLubell (talk) 03:41, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
The titles with the word "sandbox" are confusing.
[edit]To myself: why is there the word "sandbox" on my talk page? Probably because talk pages are sandboxes that aren't published to the public :) MartinLubell (talk) 03:46, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
I see now that I have 3 user_talk pages: MartinLubell/Sandbox (with a capital letter), MartinLubell/sandbox (with a small letter, main user name) and MartinLubell, which still says that I'm part of the 82 section :) MartinLubell (talk) 03:57, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
I did add my synopsis of The 5 Pillars of Wikipedia to my main user page's sandbox (with a small letter s!) MartinLubell (talk) 04:01, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- Every page has a talk page, including user pages and sandbox pages. Wikipedia pages are divided into "namespaces", and that's the part before the ":" in the page title. The User:MartinLubell is *your user page*. When we say "your user page", that's the one we mean. User_talk:MartinLubell is *your talk page*. When we say "your talk page", that's it. User:MartinLubell/sandbox and User:MartinLubell/Sandbox are two sandbox pages. You could also create User:MartinLubell/frobnicate, and if it's just for trying something out, then you could call that a sandbox page too. All of those have talk pages too ( User_talk:MartinLubell/sandbox (this page), User_talk:MartinLubell/Sandbox, and User_talk:MartinLubell/frobnicate ), but there's really no point in using those, because for a sandbox page, there's not much discussion required. ;-) Klortho (talk) 11:53, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
