The article Lesley Anne Ivory has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. TheLongTone (talk) 19:22, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
Many Thanks LongTone. I am a novice, indeed worse than that, I am a Luddite and am doing this for a friend. Having trouble getting started so am very grateful for your input. I have tried to add a reference or two. The artist is internationally renowned but finding suitable references is quite hard to do. If you have a suggestion I would be very pleased. I don't even know if this is how I contact you! 'Sitting at a computer is a total mind-block'
Just as an addition; can you let me know if you are reading this? I really do not know how to use Wikipedia and can't work my way around but would like to get this basic article published.
Many thanks MarkMarkp4200 (talk) 10:01, 9 June 2014 (UTC)
- As part of Wikipedia:Article Rescue Squadron, I have visited the page Lesley Anne Ivory making some important improvements to add to notability like Royal Academy showing, charitable work, references. The examples provided as "external links" are not acceptable at all and I have removed them. But they gave me insight to her work at least which is fine. Still the article may be deleted by any other colleague as it frankly still lacks coverage by reliable media. Surely there are reviews of her works or her books, or interviews done with her etc. I mean with an artistic life spanning three decades and so much work that I see by a search of google images, but where's the text, the writings about her, accolades, awards, gallery exhibition announcements? Anyway I added BLP sources, but it can be reverted back to deletion process by any other colleague. So that's no guarantee what I've done. But at least you see the improvement... On this occasion I dedicate to you a song that I love so much from called "Cats in the Cradle" By the way, it's not about cats, but then, it teaches us that we should always have time for caring... werldwayd (talk) 22:05, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for the links that helped to some extent and thanks for your comments about my work. I am glad how the article Lesley Anne Ivory has developed. Hope it stays as a Wikipedia article after all the additions we have done. Lesley's work is quite remarkable I must say, so that makes it all the more worth our while. werldwayd (talk) 00:45, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
