Please stop editing articles related to your company[edit]

Hi Mark, as it appears you are connected with Evolution Aircraft Corporation, you need to stop editing articles related to the company. Wikipedia is not Facebook, but an encyclopedia, and strives to maintain a neutral point of view. Companies are generally not permitted to edit articles about themselves o r their products. There are step the your company can take to update these articles, but it requires patience, a willingness to follow Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, providing secondary reliable published sources, and working with other editors in good faith. Damages created by vandalizing Wikipedia pages[edit]

Hello BilCat, you have quoted a number of rules that are new to me. I do not spend a lot of time on Wikipedia - except when customers report to us what it is saying about our company and product.

The text on both of the pages (Evolution Aircraft Corporation & Evolution Turbine) are viewed by many prospective customers. Currently, after the changes you made to both pages, they are (again) both factually inaccurate.

EAC is most definitely in business. EAC has changed the name of its flagship product to "Evolution Turbine." These are documented facts.

WHen it's convenient, please let me know where I need to email or mail the documentation verifying these facts.

You have accused me of a conflict of interest. This was a surprise - as I was simply attempting to assist Wikipedia in having the correct facts. How would anyone new to Wikipedia ascertain whether you or Ahunt may have a conflict of interest?

What I attempted to do is correct both pages from being inaccurate to accurate.

Wikipedia is viewed by many people as being a source of accurate information. (for better or for worse)

The inaccurate information posted on these pages is creating damages. EVOs sell for $1M to $1.5M. If the company's name were "Ferrari" - would you be making similar changes - based on no current data? What would Ferrari need to provide in order for Wikipedia to provide accurate info on its pages? Wikipedia's inaccurate data is harming EAC sales.

Compliance with Wikipedia Guidelines for Dispute Resolution[edit]

Hello BilCat, Per the Wikipedia guidance on "dispute resolution," I request you inform me what specific substantiating documents or independent articles you require to stop incorrectly editing EAC & the EVO's Wikipedia pages. When it's convenient, please advise what documents you need, and where to send them.

Mark, I really do understand how all this can be frustrating from you and your company's point of view. Unfortunately, in light of what I perceive to be legal threats that violate Wikipedia's policies, someone else will have to work with you at this time. Once all this has blown over, and you've abided by Wikipedia's policies, I'd be happy to reach out and try to settle any remaining personal issues. BilCat, fair enough! We'll definitely look for an experienced Wikipedia consultant who can help us navigate the ins & outs of how to correct inaccurate information. Since bad info can have a direct impact on sales, this situation is indeed frustrating.

I just reviewed two other company's pages, who had tough times. No negative info. And I looked up a few companies that have gone out of business. No Wikipedia pages exist for them. The obvious negative energy towards EAC & the EVO is what is surprising.

To the "legal threat" point - no, I'm not making any threats to take legal action. I'm simply stating we need to get info from experts in these areas.

Again, I have no idea how it's remotely possible for incorrect info to be left up on Wikipedia - a source of reference for many (for better or worse).

To someone else's point, EAC's website has not been abandoned. Also, we have indeed started a new Facebook page. A prior employee did not release the Admin role after he left. Yes - there has been a transition period. Perhaps the current employees have not yet worked hard enough to enjoy the same respect other pages appear to receive. That's the part I don't understand. Put simply, Wikipedia relies on reliable published sources. Ideally, that means newspapers, magazines, etc, that have some sort of editorial reveiw and verification process. The best advice I can give you is to have your Public Relations representative, or whoever fills that role, contact the major aviation magazines and professional aviation websites, and the Oregon newspapers, and invite them to view your operations. If one or more of those outlets publishes stories about your company, then Wikipedia can cite those articles as sources. Press releases are not always considered reliable, and some aviation sites just reprint the press release without any real investigation to ensure the information is correct.
