World War Z
[edit]One of the important guidelines of Wikipedia is notability. Before something can be added to an article it has to be notable. A lot of novels have references to popular culture, but that does not make them important enough that it needs to be added to an encyclopedia. Furthermore, Wikipedia does not like trivia sections and anyone who starts listing random references throughout a novel will find their work quickly deleted. I find the best way to overcome these two guidelines is to find notable third party sources that mention the referrence you wish to make. If a notable reviewer or publication thought it was important enough to mention in a review, then its probably important enough to add to the article. Its essential though that you cite your source in the article so your edit can be verified, (see Template:Cite web to learn how). Also remember it has to be notable: discussion boards, Amazon user reviews, blogs (unless the author is notable), etc., are not reliable and will be ignored. I'm sure with a little research you may be able to find a source for your edit, good luck and I hope this helps. Zombie Hunter Smurf (talk) 17:33, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
