If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on ESTA Technologies requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 10:34, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on ESTA Technologies, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Magog the Ogre (talk) 01:07, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request for clarification

[edit]

Are you the same person who previously edited as Esta.technologies? This edit seems to make little sense unless you are. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:05, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of indefinitely for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest policy and notability guidelines. You were advised on your previous account that you could not create this article, even with an account rename. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 12:58, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, you're also formally breaking the policy on evading blocks. On your original account, you were advised how to request an unblock in order to potentially either create a new user account or have your original one renamed. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 13:18, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

i created this username Mark.Elliston under my name because i'm trying to make a page for ESTA Technologies and thus previously tried to create a name with the same name as Esta.technologies, however I didnt know that it would be a violation. when i had the previous username, I was chating to one of the team in the chat page and he advised to make a new username since Esta.technologies will be a violation, but now I'm blocked with the new user name since i'm trying to edit the page which i did when i was with the old user ID. i'm trying to improve the page every time i get a reply from the admins who review the page. you can see that i'm improving every time i put something new. please unblock my user id Mark.Ellison so that i can make the page proper and as per the wiki guidelines.ESTA Technologies (talk) 14:07, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Your editing has been entirely promotional, and nothing suggests you intend to do otherwise. You may not have grasped the point that Wikipedia is not a medium for promotion. If you go back to the talk page of your original account you will see there instructions for requesting an unblock "to write about something other than your company". JamesBWatson (talk) 14:44, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

The short and sweet version

[edit]
  • If your intent is to create an "encyclopedia article" about a company that you are involved with, do not bother requesting unblock - WP:COI and WP:PROMO apply.
  • This is an encyclopedia, not a business directory.
  • If you think that asking one of your friends or colleagues to create the article is a good idea, think again.
  • If you are even contemplating creating yet another userid, that would not be wise, and serial violators typically receive a WP:BAN from the project as a whole.
