Welcome
[edit]Hi
Welcome aboard. I strongly suggest that you take the time to read this page. Your username comes across as shared, and somebody might see it as promotional, which is also a massive no-no.
Any questions, ask away here.

- I have changed it, thank you for the suggestion! MarissaFromMichaelCalveysTeam (talk) MarissaFromMichaelCalveysTeam (talk) 11:49, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, I would like to make sure, so I don't use the wrong template, are you being paid to make edits? If so, please provide your employer and/or client per WP:PAID. If you can provide that information, I can add a COI disclosure template to the article talk page for you. Shadow311 (talk) 01:59, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi there, I already have the COI edit notice on both my user page and the article I'm working on. I am employed by a media team that works with Michael Calvey. I am not being paid to make the edits - it is just part of my job. I hope this distinction is clear, and if not, I will be more than happy to provide more details. Again, I have the COI disclaimer everywhere on my profile. Thank you! MarissaFromMichaelCalveysTeam (talk) 09:39, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- If it is just part of your job, by which you no doubt mean the job you are paid to do, then you are being paid for it. Work doesn't somehow not count as paid work because there isn't a separate payment specifically for this part of your paid work. JBW (talk) 21:28, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi there. I understand what you're saying. I did look into this before I started, as I understood it some people are hired to edit on Wikipedia professionally, and that's what it means to be a paid editor - I may have misunderstood. I am not a professional Wiki editor, and I will never edit anything without consensus on the page - please see my comments on the one page I have been involved with: Michael Calvey. If there are more disclaimers that I need to put in place on top of what I've already done, please point me to them and I will do so.

Editing my own comment: I went back and read the COI editing page - a paid editor is someone using Wikipedia for marketing or someone who has financial stakes with the subject. This is not the case. I am adding necessary information while strictly adhering to Wikipedia's rules and common courtesy. Other editors on the page may reject my suggestions or alter them, if there is anything at all that doesn't align with their judgement. I am fine with that. I don't see any additional indications required apart from the disclaimer I've put in place. I'd be happy to discuss the specific requests I've made with you and provide background and additional sources.MarissaFromMichaelCalveysTeam (talk) 09:50, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
