Reverting to the vandalised version and trying to fix it from there is not a good idea, as I had already looked through the article and removed content I thought was not appropriate. For example, you had changed the population back to an incorrect figure, and put nonsense back into the article, such as:

The future course of action to raise the hamlet out of the valley is slightly different, involving placing the earth gathered from the surrounding hills on Minster itself.

Much of the information was either unverifiable, due to misunderstanding of the sources (e.g. the population, or the "Mud Flood"), or unlikely to be notable (e.g. the section about cottaging – Wikipedia is not a newspaper, so should not report every incident that occurred).
