Spruce Pine Mining District for Editing -I do not think swath is the best word choice for an introductory sentence on the district. I understand what you are saying, but I do not think it is conveyed well for a general audience. -Put the square miles in.
Regional Geology -I am not sure what the Blue Ridge upland region is. -I think “intrude” instead of “intruded” might work better. -I am unsure what a master stream is or how it relates to the district.
Igneous rock units - Under Pegmatite combine major and minor minerals into one sentence. - When talking about the soils it might be interesting to include why those rocks weather to poor-or rich soils. Metamorphic Rock Units - Under Quartzite change “five percent” to “5%”. - Under Hornblende Rocks combine major and minor minerals into one sentence. - What kind of hornblende rocks are they? - Under Mica Gneiss and Mica Schist combine major and minor minerals into one sentence.
General Suggestions -Mention the NC Mineral & Gem Festival if you can think of a way. It is an interesting connection between the regional geology and the town of Spruce Pine. -If there is a shortened name for the Spruce Pine Mining District? I would use that in the wiki page if available. - Sentences seem awkwardly short and you should try and combine some to make reading more comfortable. - Try and bring one or two more sources into the page. You have a good amount of sections, I would be interested in seeing some more about the mineralogy of the unit. - I believe titles are formatted like “First word” instead of “First Word”.
