MargaretR1
[edit]Your editing patterns and style suggest that this might be a replacement account for MargaretR1. There's no problem with that as it's perfectly fine to abandon an old account and move to a new one, but you should declare the connection between the accounts if there is one: take a look at Template:Abandoned account for how to do this, or ask me if you get stuck. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 13:43, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
- I had to create a new account, as I could not get into my old one - which was set up using my university address - but now retired, that email address was closed - this was not the only similar issue - I will have a look to see if I can follow the Template abandoned route - thanks for you offer of help
- In the old account, I had an large sandbox entry, on TickITplus which I uploaded, then it was removed - I did not understand why - but lost all the supporting references, as I also lost my access to my old university online storage - could you help?, (This was to create an update to the TickIT international quality standard, now replaced by TickITplus) - is it possible you could help? 82.17.54.110 (talk) 16:32, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
I have edited User:MargaretR1 to indicate your account move. I have also found a useful command to list all the subpages there:
but none of these seems to contain the information you describe, so I suspect it is permanently lost. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 20:10, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for trying - I will have a go trying to recover at least a few of the different references for TickITplus but it will be unfortunately less good than the original, as I nolonger have access to all my sources saved at the university since I retired - thanks again for your help 82.17.54.110 (talk) 09:48, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
Minor edits
[edit]Hi Margaret1R! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 13:44, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
- sorry = noted 82.17.54.110 (talk) 16:32, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of TickITplus
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on TickITplus, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement of https://www.itgovernance.asia/tickitplus#why-ticketplus. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Noneate (talk) 13:25, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- I am confused as a free standard , it gives direct quotes from the standard, and full references -
- I did not include any links, information or references to those that audit, consultants or trainers
- please explain -
- as other standards seem to e included, including TickIT which has now been replaced by TickITplus -
- what should I do? please adveriise
- thanks
- Margaret Margaret1R (talk) 13:42, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- Also, I checked you have on Wikipedia, the not dead TickIT replaced by TickITplus
- and the various other standards, including ISO 9001 and the road standart, Highway Code
- - there needs to be direct quotes I thought for standards- slight word changes alters the
- understanding
- please clarify and help me understand how to add this standard Margaret1R (talk) 13:57, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- Please could you put the deleted page and references into my sandbox, then I can try to work out how the information can be changed, so not to change the meaning, as this is a standard -
- correction - the minor edit was when I removed the blank link, not when I tried to put up the page which was not a minor edit Margaret1R (talk) 14:09, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help and advice Margaret1R (talk) 14:10, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
