Hi Falcadore, You might remember me from the Colin Bond page. I have started a wikipedia article on Bob Morris (motor racing) as I feel that he was a significant figure of the 1970's Touring Car era and was surprised that there wasn't an article on him already. Please check out the new article on Bob Morris and make any corrections or add additional info if you would like to. cheers, Marcusaurelius161 15:41, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- That something like what you were after? --Falcadore 01:05, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, thanks Falcadore, for the additional info and Morris’s date of birth. The article now gives a pretty good overview of his career. And his father Ray now gets a mention; as he should. Marcusaurelius161 06:09, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Sun-7 Chesterfield Series
[edit]Hi Falcadore, I've started an article on the Amaroo Park Sun-7 Chesterfield Series but have left blank 1972 and 1973 in the List of Winners table. I was wondering if maybe you have Racing Car News - September or October editions for those years, which should have the Sun-7 final results to complete the Winners Table? Or maybe the 'Giant Killers' magazines would mention the winners (particularly if it was Bondy!) Thanks, Cheers. Marcusaurelius161 (talk) 15:01, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, just forgot, but also sorry that I don't really have the info your after :( --Falcadore (talk) 20:45, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
- No worries, thanks. Marcusaurelius161 (talk) 06:59, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
HDT =
[edit]Hey Marcus, I have a few books on MHDT and was reading up on John Bagshaw's efforts over the years. You beat me to referencing him, when all said and done if JB hadn't done what he did MHDT would have been just another racing team! I have postcard sized pics of Brock's 9 winning cars, would be handy to know how to get them up onto the HDT page...but small enough not to be "Right clicked" Regards Zippomk2 (talk) 05:06, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message. Yes, if John Bagshaw hadn't found a way to circumvent GM's ban on funding factory teams then the Holden-Ford rivalry, as we know it, probably wouldn't have developed. Regarding your question about downloading pictures - I'm not really much of an expert on that sort of thing. Maybe you could ask Falcadore, he might know or be able to refer you to someone who can help you. Cheers.

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: John McCormack (racing driver). Our verifiability policy requires that all content be cited to a reliable source. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:13, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Johnnie Walker
[edit]Be careful with the links - there were from what I recall, two Johnnie Walker Austrtalian racing drivers. From what I recall the Mazda RX-7 racer was a used car dealer from the Tasmanian north coast unrelated to the Formula 5000 driver. Will look up reference material to confirm. --Falcadore (talk) 11:15, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- Good point. I will bear that in mind when linking.--Marcusaurelius161 (talk) 11:21, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Disambiguation tag
[edit]Would you consider moving the extension to the recommended usual - (racing driver) ? --Falcadore (talk) 10:52, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think I got "(motor racing)" as the extension from the "Johnnie Walker (disambiguation)" page and there seemed to already be a lot of 'red' links done that way. But I have no objection to it being changed to "(racing driver)" in the interests of consistency.--Marcusaurelius161 (talk) 11:49, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
- Please. The disambig tag should describe what the person does, like the difference between footballer and football. --Falcadore (talk) 22:27, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Marcusaurelius161! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 329 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

1971 ADC
[edit]Just acquired race results from the 1971 ADC (along with '72 % '76 - only need '77 & '78 for a complete set now) and I note some discrepancy with John McCormack. You placed in his article he finish fourth in the 1971 series. Just going on raw results and the 9-6-4-3-2-1 in use for much of the era he perhaps should have been second in 1971? Was a different pointscore in use for 1971?
M.Stewart | 2nd | 1st | 4th | 1st | 6th | 3rd | 32 |
McCormack | 2nd | 2nd | 1st | 21 | |||
Hamilton | 3rd | 3rd | 2nd | Ret | Ret | 2nd | 20 |
T.Stewart | 4th | 5th | 11th | Ret | 1st | 6th | 15 |
Bartlett | 1st | Ret | 3rd | Ret | Ret | Ret | 13 |
Any help? --Falcadore (talk) 20:21, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
- It does. Pointed out a simple error, and some confusion with the non-championship Rose City race. --Falcadore (talk) 05:56, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for creating the article on Gretel II, and for doing such a good job of getting it started - it is great to see an article on one of my favourite yachts! Now I have an excuse to try and get some photographs. Bilby (talk) 04:13, 29 August 2012 (UTC) |
Many thanks for the Barnstar Bilby. I was a bit surprised there were no articles about either of the Gretels. I'm not a yachtie but have fond memories of following Gretel II's progress when I was a kid. Later I might have a go at starting an article on the first Gretel, although I'm too 'young' to remember her 1962 challenge. Cheers, --Marcusaurelius161 (talk) 09:59, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
