Political Censorship in Brazil: A Growing Concern Across Media and Platforms
In Brazil, we are currently facing widespread political censorship across all media and platforms due to government-related issues. This situation has forced many of us to seek alternative platforms outside the country to continue our work. Numerous Brazilians, including celebrities, artists, and public figures, are encountering similar challenges, even with Wikipedia in Portuguese.
The Brazilian Wikipedia, which once stood as a symbol of free information, has begun to impose unjustified bans and blocks on the IP addresses of its contributors and users. These actions are often carried out without any clear pretext or substantial arguments, leading to a significant restriction of access to this vital resource.
As a result, Wikipedia in Brazil is no longer the free platform it once was. We urgently request that this issue be addressed, and we seek approval to continue contributing freely without undue censorship. Thank you for your consideration. Marcio L Cunha (talk) 13:03, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is the English-language Wikipedia, and is completely separate from any other language version. Please do not resubmit non-English content for publication here, as it cannot be accepted. I have reverted your resubmission. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:06, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
