Chris stamp page - birth year correction
I am looking at a copy of the birth certificate for Chris Stamp- it say's he was born in 1942. This needs to be corrected on the listing.
I'm not sure if I did it correctly.
Thanks for your help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cstewart139 (talk • contribs) 22:03, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
- I have left your edit of the birth date catagory on the Chris Stamp article and have changed the birth date listed at the start of the article to 1942 as well. I take you at your word that you've seen his birth certificate.
- It might also interest you to read about Wikipedia's policies on verifiability and avoiding original research. As per the opening paragraph regarding the importance of reliability:
The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—that is, whether readers are able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether we think (or even know) it is true. Editors should provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is challenged or likely to be challenged, or the material may be removed.'Italic text'
- And to quote a paragraph on the importance of sources on Wikipedia:
Research that consists of collecting and organizing material from existing sources within the provisions of this and other content policies is encouraged: this is "source-based research", and it is fundamental to writing an encyclopedia.
- While one can argue "I've placed this fact in the article, because I witnessed it for myself", at the same time, someone using Wikipedia should be able to find reference to the source of said fact for themselves. Perhaps if you know Chris well enough to get your hands on his birth certificate, you might also ask him if he knows of a publication where his date of birth was printed so that we may add a proper reference to this information. There was no mention of his exact date of birth in any of the reference materials I used for this article.

Articles for deletion nomination of The Brothers (2006 film)
I have nominated The Brothers (2006 film), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Brothers (2006 film). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

- No problem. Back in my early editing days I worked on cleaning up disambiguation pages and if I found an entry with no article I would often create a stub. If no one has bothered to expand the stub article for almost 2yrs I see no problem with nominating it for deletion. Marchije•speak/peek 14:17, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
