Robert Webb

[edit]

Hi there. Please would you stop adding "Zadie Smith seems to have been rejected for a place in the Cambridge Footlights by the popular british comedy double act Mitchell and Webb, whilst all three were studying at Cambridge University in the 90's. <(http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/12/22/081222fa_fact_smith)>" to Robert Webb.

1. Why is this information relevant or important to Robert Webb? 2. It's entirely speculation; that source doesn't mention who the double act actually is at all.

Thanks. Gran2 14:56, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"it is clear who Smith is referring to" - To you maybe, not to me, or anyone who doesn't know anything about M&W; read OR and WP:BIO - The source does not explicitly mention who she is referring to, therefore it is entirely speculation to say it is M&W. "an interesting example of the bizarre, inter-locking British Oxbridge education system" - Again, what does that have to do with Webb? If it belongs anywhere it belongs on a page comparing Cambridge and Oxford. He probably rejected a lot of people from the Footlights, I fail to see how mentioning any of them is of importance. "tells us more about Webb's character" - That he thought Zadie Smith wasn't funny? Is that important to him?
As said, above any points of its importance, the source does not mention them by name, whatever you personally infer from it, and therefore can not be used. Gran2 15:08, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
