Whatever

[edit]

On 04:51, 26 June 2006 you edited a comment on the Talk:Competitive Enterprise Institute page in which you added my signature to a comment by another user. I can't imagine why you thought this was acceptable behavior. Since this account seems to be inactive, I note the matter here rather than reporting it as vandalism. John Broughton 14:24, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever. I can't imagine why you waste your time here if you're just going to run around anonymously. Why not face up to the things you write? --Mangle 22:52, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Friendly Warning

[edit]

Hi, I noticed you've been adding links to reviews by tinymixtapes to various articles. While I appreciate very much the work that tinymixtapes does, it's not appropriate to add links to reviews in the external links sections of articles unless there is a very strong reason to do so. Please have a look at the policies and guidelines set out at WP:External links. Please note that if you continue to add links to articles without a strong rationale this will look very much like a conflict of interest or, worse, a case of link spamming. In the meantime, I reverted one such addition to the Christ. article. Thanks and good luck. BFD1 20:32, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That is so fucking weak. How is an article about an artist not strong rationale? Explain yourself.--Mangle 02:19, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm writing with regard to the article you created titled An Announcement to Answer. Currently there is no text, just an infobox there. This means the article is at risk of getting deleted if an administrator sees it in that condition. I am not going to do anything to try to get it deleted at this time, but I am just recommending that you make sure the article gets some text so it will be at less risk of deletion. --Metropolitan90 05:38, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've added some more info for the release. Cheers. --Mangle 00:11, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Miami (The Go Find album) do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. RJASE1 Talk 18:30, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. IrishGuy talk 18:55, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. IrishGuy talk 19:00, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I deeply object the classification of Tiny Mix Tapes as spam. It is a professional reviews source that has been running for over half a decade now. This is completely unfair.--Mangle 20:19, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Rotten Apple (Lloyd Banks album), you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing anyone from linking to them from any site that uses the MediaWiki spam blacklist, which includes all of Wikimedia and Wikipedia. RJASE1 Talk 21:50, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't ad it. I stopped it being deleted by another user. Why are you being so unreasonable? --Mangle 21:53, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, you did. And then you put it back when it was removed. IrishGuy talk 21:56, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, which sites am I allowed to add? What is the official Wiki stance on what a professional review is?--Mangle 21:57, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removing other links because you are angry that yours was removed is a violation of WP:POINT. Please don't do that. IrishGuy talk 21:58, 4 March 2007 (UTC) Why was mine removed but the others are okay? That's a doubel standard.--Mangle 21:59, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For the absolute last time, you are associated with that website. By you adding it, you are violating WP:COI and WP:SPAM. That is why your spam links have been removed. IrishGuy talk 22:01, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't ask you why mine were removed. I asked you which sites are professional reviews. Answer my question.--Mangle 22:03, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing Wikipedia for a period of 3 hours as a result of your disruptive edits. You are free to make constructive edits after the block has expired, but please note that vandalism (including page blanking or addition of random text), spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks; and repeated, blatant violations of our neutral point of view policy will not be tolerated. Rlevse 22:36, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adding relevant content will also not be tollerated. Eat me.--Mangle 02:04, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. IrishGuy talk 14:08, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Survey Invitation

[edit]

Hi there, I am a research student from the National University of Singapore and I wish to invite you to do an online survey about Wikipedia. To compensate you for your time, I am offering a reward of USD$10, either to you or as a donation to the Wikimedia Foundation. For more information, please go to the research home page. Thank you. --WikiInquirer 12:05, 9 March 2007 (UTC)talk to me[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Gimmie Trouble. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Dirk Beetstra T C 15:40, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • So I'm not allowed to put any links down under professional reviews? I didn't know Wiki was taking such a hardline stance against Popmatters, Metacritic, and the like.
If I see your userpage and your archive, you have a conflict of interest, also please not that wikipedia is not a linkfarm, "There is nothing wrong with adding one or more useful content-relevant links to an article; however, excessive lists can dwarf articles and detract from the purpose of Wikipedia." I did remove the links that you added to tinymixtapes, and removed the links you added to Why Bother? (album) (excessive number of links, 4 is enough). Hope this explains, have a nice day. --Dirk Beetstra T C 15:52, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
