Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, ManeCuervo. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Progressive International, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. S0091 (talk) 21:28, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I was not aware of this. I am not receiving any compensation for the edition of the article. I will propose the changes in the appropriate format. ManeCuervo (talk) 21:36, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ManeCuervo, per the note you removed from your User page, you are employed by Progressive International so you must declare that both on your User page and any edit requests you make. Be sure to provide reliable sources in your requests and note that Progressive International is not considered reliable, this includes things like press releases and the like (anything coming from or affiliated with them is not reliable). If you have questions or need help, you can ask at the Teahouse. S0091 (talk) 21:51, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Already corrected on my page and will be declaring it when submitting the proposed changes after the revision of all the information you so generously provided me with. ManeCuervo (talk) 21:58, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As long as you follow Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, you should be fine. I do encourage to read the pages linked above in the Welcome message, paying particular attention to the Neutral Point of View and Verifiability policies. S0091 (talk) 22:04, 24 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
