Commentary

[edit]

Please do not put discussion or commentary in the body of articles. Use the tab labled "discussion" instead. Regardless of the factual merits of your change to James Douglas, 7th Earl of Douglas, it was of completely inappropriate tone for an encyclopedia, and I have reverted them.i kan reed (talk) 21:10, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also, after reviewing the content from thePeerage.com, the only source I have direct access to at this time, it appears that he did in fact assume his title in 1440. i kan reed (talk) 21:13, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I would agree. I suggest that you read this: [1] pages 360-443 would cover the 7th Earl's background and life. While not without the odd error, it is the definitive history of the Earls of Douglas, Angus and Morton etc. Regards. Brendandh (talk) 21:37, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
