Deletion of G. K. Reddy (producer)
Hi, kindly help me with the recovery of this page [G. K. Reddy (producer)] as I saw that you had deleted it. I'd like to apologize for adding information about the person G. K. Reddy without the required references since I was not aware that Wikipedia functions with data that requires citation. Since this person doesn't have proper recorded information for most of his accomplishments, the final version of the wiki page that was online, was posted with the right citations and references, so kindly help me with recovering this page or fixing it for this person as he is a veteran film producer in Tamilnadu and also an emerging Fitness enthusiast. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ragunath Shanmugam (talk • contribs) 09:31, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hello. Wikipedia summarises what is written about a subject in high quality sources - sources that are reliable, independent of the subject and cover the subject in-depth - and which are cited in the article. If you can bring forward high quality sources about G. K. Reddy then we can consider this further. In the meantime, the article has been picked up by the EverybodyWiki where such things are less important: you can find it at G. K. Reddy (producer). Kind regards, --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 23:36, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the information. I'm hereby attaching some informational links of G. K. Reddy (producer) for your reference. [1], [2], [3]. Moreover, he is the father of prominent South Indian actor Vishal [4]. Currently, the existing page G. K. Reddy refers to an Indian Journalist who has passed away in 1987 and that actor Vishal is his son. Do help us sort out this misinterpretation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 45.251.35.78 (talk) 17:19, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- By high quality sources, we mean reliable, independent, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy, that cover the subject in depth.
- You put forward three sources: the 'book my show' website does not appear to be reliable or independent nor is it in-depth; I am unsure of the provenance of E Times and India Today, but these tell us very little other than Vishal and his father GK Reddy have recovered from coronavirus and that GK Reddy has a fitness routine and so these are not in-depth.
- That GK Reddy is the father of Vishal may be appropriate to include in the personal life section on the page for Vishal (actor) where Vishal’s brother is already mentioned, and I suggest you add some text about him there. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 20:22, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
Deletion of Alexander Marxer
A few months ago an article about Alexander Marxer, the footballer from Liechtenstein, was deleted as he did not yet have any caps for the national team and therefore didn't meet notability criteria. Since then he has now got his first cap, so he now meets eligibility and because of this a page has been created for him. However, if I recall correctly, the earlier deleted page had a lot more detail on it, so it would be beneficial to replace the page with the previously deleted version. Thanks SpookySpaghetti (talk) 13:43, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hi SpookySpaghetti, I have restored the deleted history to the page. If you look there, you can take whatever you think appropriate from a previous version and edit the current version in the normal way. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 19:19, 12 November 2020 (UTC)

Deletion of Storehippo
Hi Malcom, I just noticed that you had deleted Storehippo's wikipedia page. May you share the reason behind the deletion so we can rectify it? StoreHippo is the top SaaS E-commerce platform in India and MiddleEast (only next to Shopify) and powers a number of leading brands. If there was a concern about the content on the page then please do share that.
Rajiv22 (talk) 07:22, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hello. Do I detect that you are employed by or connected in some way to Storehippo? If so, please read WP:COI before going any further. Regarding the article, it was deleted following a discussion; to put it simply, the company did not meet Wikipedia’s criteria for inclusion in the encyclopedia. However, all is not lost as the article now lives at EverybodyWiki and HandWiki and I would suggest editing the article there. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 22:17, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

Hello Malcolmxl5, in August you helpfully protected Wikipedia:WikiProject Plants/World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions from persistent vandalism. The protection just expired and unfortunately the vandalism has resumed. And of the same type and same source (Hialeah, Florida; Comcast) as before. CallMeCarson
Hi. You correctly closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/CallMeCarson as delete a few months ago. However, we now again have a (very poor) article at CallMeCarson, and it llooks as if the person has been widely in the news in the last few days, for some highly controversial reasons[5]. If it could be worthwhile to have the previous contents to develop the current page, could you please undelete it? If there is nothing remotely useful in the history, then of course don't bother. Fram (talk) 15:28, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Fram: Ew. So what have we got? A young YouTuber who broke up with his girlfriend last year and about whom allegations of an unpleasant kind have recently been made, covered in the scandal rags of course. Not much to pin an encyclopaedia article on, is it? The deleted article is a three-line lead, a one-line summary of of his YouTube 'career', sourced to YouTube naturally, and two lines about his girlfriend cheating on him. To be honest, I think it would be best to leave this one alone on the basis that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid: it is not Wikipedia's job to be sensationalist, or to be the primary vehicle for the spread of titillating claims about people's lives. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 17:55, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. It has been deleted as the original poster didn't bother turning it into an actual article. While the "mainstream" media about this were rubbish (Newsweek, Sun), I have no idea about the reliability and seriousness of the many more specialized sources about this kind of topic which were available in Gnews as well, so I thought it better to keep the article around and let people with more knowledge of this expand it (but keeping an eye out for BLP violations and so on). E.g. on Dexerto a whole series of articles were written about the situation, but is Dexerto in any way noteworthy and reliable? Anyway, thanks for looking into this. Questions about The Strap-Ons
Hello Malcolmxl5,
I have some questions because I posted a different version of a wikipedia article that was removed. I understand why it was removed and sorry for the extended delay and have created a totally revamped article which I believe has resolved the issues of proving notability and providing citations.
My first question is, did I post it in the proper way so that you can review it. If not, let me know the correct procedure. If it is okay the way I have posted it, can you please review it and give suggestions on how to improve it to follow wikipedia guidelines and rules.
I have gained a lot of information through this experience: the importance of providing citations that show notability. I appreciate your help in this matter and look forward to hearing from you with recommendations on proper procedures to follow and ways to improve the article.
Thanks, Brian D. Diederich Brianddiederich (talk) 23:06, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Brianddiederich: Hi, Brian. For bands, I like to see a bio and for this, a few in-depth, high quality sources will do a great job; three is often enough as long as they are in some depth. The Johnny Loftus one in AllMusic is a fairly decent one; if there are other in-depth profiles of the band in books, e.g. encyclopaedias of rock or punk music, or in quality music magazines, or in quality newspapers, it would be good to have these too. The other thing, and you’ve probably noticed a tag on the page, is that we prefer articles to be written by someone who is not close to the subject; see WP:COI. Not the end of the world of course, the article can always be rewritten by someone else. P.S. I see the original article was picked up by the EverybodyWiki when it was deleted. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 04:48, 3 February 2021 (UTC)

Continued concern over University of Reading
Hi there. Just wanted to let you know there still may be concerns over the University of Reading page protections you put in place (and I requested). There seem to be new accounts ready to take on their fight, and who've turned their attention to my talk page. Just thought you should be warned, not that I expect you haven't seen this sort of stuff before. Shadowssettle Need a word? 20:42, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

I tried to be constructive and incorporate their edits using reliable sources rather than synthesising and ORing a non-independent letter, but wouldn't mind a second pair of eyes to make sure I'm not just reverting for nothing. Korea origin theory
Hello. I am a Wikipedia user from South Korea. I have a message to tell you about the "Korea origin theory" document. First of all, I apologize for the use of rude expressions in the document by some of the excited Koreans. I would like to inform you that "Korea origin theory" document was created and deleted several years ago. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/South_Korean_cultural_claims_(2nd_nomination) please read this record.
There have been several cultural disputes between South Korea and China in recent years, and some Chinese has written this document to demean Korea. This document is not neutral and the evidence is poor. Most of the sources are Chinese and Japanese articles, and even those are poorly documented. Please, I sincerely ask you to delete this document with your authority. Thank you for reading. Sushgmjj2020 (talk) 05:57, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

About notable residents without Wikipedia pages
Hello. You recently removed my link to Edwin Symonowicz as a notable resident of Dolina Jadwigi and provided a comment: 'Notable people' means people who have an article on Wikipedia. This person does not have an article. However, why then several Wikipedia city pages have several people in their 'notable people' sections with no articles on Wikipedia and no one removes them? For example, look Łobez - of all 6 notable residents, only 1 has his Wikipedia page! And even no references! If it's so, why then I can't write about my favourite Polish singer Edwin Symonowicz on his hometown page with clear reliable reference (wide-known book) that he was born there and is notable enough? --Birdsflyinghigh123 (talk) 14:28, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- If Edwin Symonowicz is notable then it shouldn’t be difficult for you to write a Wikipedia compliance article about him. While you are here, please explain why you added Edwin Symonowicz to the list of heads of Fettes College here and why you created an article about a 15-year old boy? --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 15:04, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Per WP:CITSTRUCT, if a person doesn't have an article then they don't get included. If they're notable the first step is to create and article and then link them. Canterbury Tail talk 15:11, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you. I can explain. At the first time, I'm sorry for Fettes College mistake. It was not an intended hoax, I saw the wrong reference that Symonowicz was one of this college headteacher's in Web and realized that it's fake info only after I made my change into Wikipedia. Now about Frank Mortenson. You think 15-year old boy can't be included in Wiki only because of his age? He is from the same generation like Roksana Węgiel and Viki Gabor - they are also 15-year old, but they are Polish singers. The same about Frank Mortenson. --Birdsflyinghigh123 (talk) 15:35, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Aamer Manzoor
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Aamer Manzoor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Störm (talk) 13:20, 25 February 2021 (UTC)

Request for undeletion of Stephen Akintayo for improvement
I have gone through the article Stephen Akintayo and after a deep review of the mentioned article, I have gathered that the article is worthy of being on the Wikipedia mainspace. Similarly, it was okay that you removed it as it was previously posted by a lax editor thereby making it shoddy and inapt to stay on Wikipedia.
I have gone to revamp and recreate the article and minimise it to fit into the Wikipedia guidelines and also provided reliable, published sources and inline citation to it. I will be glad to have this resolved in the soonest. Thank you. Mrniger (talk) 08:51, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hello. The article has been deleted twice after deletion discussions, rightly so on review. If you are going to recreate it you will need multiple high-quality sources that discuss the subject in depth. What are your three best sources? --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 14:17, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

Edit Summary Scratch-out request
Hi. Could you scratch out the edit summaries of the following users from the Edit History of America's Got Talent (season 3), as you did with the last lot who vandalized the article? I figured their summaries are just as bad for the following reason on each:
- Ong Tiong San - Summary references a political party of Singapore, not relevant to the article, and includes what looks like Political Propaganda in it
- CHLOE SEAH YI XUAN & ANGEL TANG SHU TING - Used Chinese text, and the note of numbers before them like a time, makes me believe they are showing off a TV Schedule in their language
- Tony Tan Keng Yam - Edit summaries have been done to link to Singaporean people that has no relevance to the article, and makes no sense to state within edit summaries.
- Lim Li-Wei - Summaries seem to stipulate a program time for Singaporean television, and advocates a falsehood on a winner.
- The fabulous 60-minute Price is Right! - No idea what they were doing with these, but it looks like absolute gibberish.
- America's Got Talent is back! - Abosolute gibberish, or naming Singaporean people which makes no sense to talk about with a edit on the article.
Can you help out? GUtt01 (talk) 09:18, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- Also, can I say a big thank you to you for what you did to that article! After so many years of persistent disruption to it by socks vandalizing it in the same manner, it is truly a big relief to finally find someone realizing that the problem would continue to persist unless something dynamic was done to nip it in the bud once and for all! Let's hope that this will end the matter for good, and again a well deserved, monumental thank you. I'm sure other editors who have hated this will be relieved as much as me. ^w^ GUtt01 (talk) 17:48, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
- @GUtt01: Yes, I took a bit of a deep dive. There has been considerable disruption and sockpuppetry for many, many years. This is just long-term abuse and there is no sign of it letting up. Enough is enough. On the scratching out, I’ve revision deleted a couple of the more obviously disruptive summaries but I’m inclined to just let the others fade away in the history. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 03:30, 7 March 2021 (UTC)

Request for the Undeletion of "Rick Peterson (Politician)"
Rick Peterson most certainly meets Wikipedia's notability standards.
He has ran for leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada twice, has ran for member of parliament multiple times. He is also president of Canada's 6th largest capital investment company by investor connections. Peterson is currently running in Edmonton-Strathcona.
Peterson was also considered as a possible replacement for Peter Mackay. He is the former head of Suits and Boots, a conservative advocacy group.
It astonished me to learn he didn't have an article, considering how well known he is. BasedMises (talk) 23:40, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hello, Rick Peterson has been discussed twice on Wikipedia, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rick Peterson (Canadian politician) and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rick Peterson (politician). The outcome of both discussion was that he did not meet inclusion criteria for an article in the encyclopaedia. Two criteria were cited: the first is WP:POLITICIAN, essentially that the person must have held office at a high level; the other is the general notability guideline, which requires that the person should have received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Is there new information that shows he meets these inclusion criteria? --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 10:31, 29 March 2021 (UTC)

Hello Malcolmxl5, I've been informed by an Afc reviewer that Draft:Omah Lay cannot be accepted if the main space page is not unprotected. I noted that you protected the page in August last year due to multiple recreations. Request for undeletion of Barry Aycock for improvement
Hi- hoping we can discuss the article here? I feel like several sources were not cited in the previous published article, and I'm more than happy to make some adjustments. Please let me know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zachhedrick (talk • contribs) 15:02, 19 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hello, the article was nominated for discussion by an editor; you can find the discussion at: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Barry Aycock. It was discussed for seven days and then I assessed the consensus of the discussion - all perfectly normal, this process happens hundreds of times every week.
- The consensus was very clearly for deletion, that the subject does not meet inclusion criteria for an article in the encyclopaedia. The general notability criteria, which requires significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, is cited and also the inclusion criteria for politicians.
- If you are going to improve the article, you will need multiple high-quality sources that discuss the subject in depth - what are your three best sources? --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 11:48, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
Hi, thanks so much for your response. On the article in question, I included a variety of quality sources. Several were from from the largest news outlets within the designated region. On the biography at the front-end, In realize there was not a great deal of citations. I can remove that section for now, and include a citation to the profile when posted. I'm providing a link to the Ownership Biography section of the NBA's G-League Texas Legends. There is some additional information within this site, and I am more than willing to provide more if you'll consider reversing the deletion.

Hi - just wondering if you were able to consider my request. Please let me know at your convenience, thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zachhedrick (talk • contribs) 21:11, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
Hi, I was wondering if you were able to look into this any further?
- Hi Zachhedrick. What the community will look for so that the page does not get deleted again are independent sources that address the subject directly and in-depth. In-depth profiles of Mr Aycock with biographical material that can be summarised into an article would be ideal. Multiple in-depth sources are preferred.
- I have moved the page into what we call draftspace at Draft:Barry Aycock where you will have some time and space to edit and improve the article. If you need help or have any questions, visit the Teahouse. When you have finished editing, submit the article for review (there is a link in the template at the top of the page) and a reviewer will look it over before it is moved to article space. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 21:08, 17 April 2021 (UTC)

Italian IP LTAs
Hi. You recently blocked 79.30.115.47 for disruption. Today 79.30.102.23 restored one of the blocked IP's edits you reverted, clearly block evasion.
Both of these IPs are part of a group based in Brescia, Italy -- probably the work of a single editor -- which have become an LTA. You can see the list here and read the discussion I have had with @Acroterion: about them here.
Beyond My Ken (talk) 16:30, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
- Blocked! Telecom Italia is a pain, it’s one of those highly dynamic ISPs across many ranges. I’ve been dealing with a LTA in the Perugia region who targets BLPs, one in particular, with very nasty comments. He’s being throttled back with an edit filter, possibly that might be a solution here? --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 16:43, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, if an edit filter is based on content, their content is not consistent. The couple of articles about historians where they consistently changed "Marxist historian" to "criminal" I've managed to get protected, but their other edits are not similar enough, I don't think, to craft an edit filter for. Acroterion has put up some range blocks, which has helped slow them down, but they still manage to do damage. (I say "they*, but it's pretty clearly one person.) Thanks for the block. Hi Malcolm, Just spotted your note at the MFD - Unfortunately different admins have different ways of deleting things and I was 90% sure that whatever criteria I picked the dealing admin was going to decline it as not being applicable. I hate 7 day discussions as the next person but you sort of begin to get fed up with choosing the "quick route" only for that admin not to make it quick at all.
You're more than welcome to delete the page and speedy close the MFD I certainly have no objections to that. Thanks, Warm Regards, –Davey2010Talk 20:18, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi Malcomxl5, I've noticed you blocked this IP address for a week, which seems quite heavy-handed for a first block, especially when pretty much all the edits the IP has made seem to be valid contests of proposed deletion tags, and also undoing the incorrect restoration of prod tags by another user. I understand how removal of a large block of PROD tags can be seen as disruptive, but in my opinion I don't think this warrants a week-long block if it even warrants a block at all. Is there something else at play that I've missed here? stwalkerster (talk) 17:15, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
- Hi stwalkerster. I took the view that they were being deliberately disruptive in de-prodding ten articles in two minutes today (and yesterday, four in two minutes). - Actually, I see ToBeFree has gone with a 2001:fb1:10::/46 rangeblock, which I guess will take care of that! --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 17:40, 13 May 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for reverting the deletions. It's a controversial moment (he's up for a university presidency) and there may be more of the same--any chance you can make the page semi-protected? 71.209.71.229 (talk) 21:49, 12 May 2021 (UTC)

- I hope so. The only thing left to be done is the locking, but as Evlekis doesn't seem to do much xwiki abuse nowadays (unlike some LTAs I have to deal with daily), that doesn't seem very urgent at any rate. Thanks once again! JavaHurricane 08:38, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

IP removing runner-up honors
Hi, you have blocked the IP 14.228.161.154 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) on 30 April for persistently making disruptive edits, i.e. removing runner-up honors. I'm seeing similar behavior now from other IPs from the the same provider, 123.17.24.73 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) and 14.244.251.14 (talk · contribs · WHOIS). 113.186.154.19 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) was already blocked for this behavior some time ago. I'm afraid that there is the same editor behind al those IPs and the after the next block they will just continue with a new IP. Is there something that can be done to prevent this? --Jaellee (talk) 19:10, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
- Hmm, that looks a tricky one. A rangeblock is not possible for these IPs and there are probably too many articles involved to protect them all. I’ll look into it. Do ping me if you see them again. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 20:43, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
- Noting another one, 14.235.129.251 (talk · contribs · WHOIS). --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 19:18, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for blocking them. But it seems that this editor is just continuing. I'm really getting tired of this. --Jaellee (talk) 21:31, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- @Jaellee: Yes, it’s very frustrating. I’ve been putting together a list of IPs and articles affected at user:Malcolmxl5/sandbox#Vietnam. Have you seen any other IPs doing this? Ping me or drop me a line if you see a new one. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 20:42, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
- At the moment, all the IP's with that behavior are contained in your list (at least the ones I know). If I spot another one, I'll inform you. --Jaellee (talk) 20:12, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

- Hmm. This LTA is hard to pin down. I was looking at 5.170.0.0/19 and 95.232.96.0/19 as possible rangeblocks but there’s collateral damage, I think, and of course they use so many other disparate IPs. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 23:02, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- P.S. Are 5.170.24.87, 95.232.97.153 and 95.232.103.131 on your list, Beyond My Ken? --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 23:31, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- Nope, I'll add them now. Thanks. Beyond My Ken (talk) 23:41, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- The first (5.170...), the edit to the TV series article is a little out of character. Trotskyism is new, but right up their alley.
- The second is definite, Wolves of Vinland is one of their articles.
- The third, Sea Watch is one of their articles, but the other two articles (an actor/director/talk show host and a video game) are new and, again, somewhat out of character.
- I don't know what to think about that. Big brother/kid brother? Beyond My Ken (talk) 23:57, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- Given how dynamic these IPs appear to be, the earlier edits could be someone else entirely, certainly the 2009 and 2013 edits and probably the February 2021 one too. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 00:08, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
