Help me

[edit]

I hope this the right place to put that! It is far from clear how to start using this talk page.

Is there a policy on units? I can't find one. I would expect primarily metric and if necessary follow with imperial in brackets. Malcolm.boura (talk) 16:42, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Malcolm, please see WP:UNITS for the Manual of Style's guide to units and numbers. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 16:55, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back. --ClemRutter (talk) 22:25, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I intend to fix the mathematical part of https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Water_wheel Nearly finished collecting the material needed. Malcolm.boura (talk) 22:31, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There is a useful template that does all the hard work {{convert|11|m|ft}} but it really is very clever and does things like {{convert|11|to|14|ha|acre}} to find out all about it try {{ t|convert}}, which renders to "11 metres (36 ft) and 11 to 14 hectares (27 to 35 acres) and {{convert}}"--ClemRutter (talk) 22:39, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes thanks, the WP:UNITS page referenced above describes that. Malcolm.boura (talk) 22:47, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Poncelet wheel, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Radial. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Changes to BN page

[edit]

I have spent some time today writing a British Naturism paragraph on the College of Policing developments. I understand conflict of interest prevents you from active editing- but could you pass a glance and comment on the talk page if I have made any howlers. --ClemRutter (talk) 19:41, 10 October 2018 (UTC

I will take a look, probably tomorrow. Malcolm. 148.252.128.239 (talk) 20:20, 10 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
