Just to be clear, contributions are quite welcome, but we're a bit uptight about copyright here. -- Cyrius| 23:51, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vicksburg Fire Department

[edit]

The page the Vicksburg Fire Department article was taken from [1] was licensed cc-by-nc-nd. That's non-commercial, no derivatives, and incompatible with Wikipedia. Without an explicit statement by you that you are the copyright holder and agree to release the text under compatible terms, we have to delete it for our own protection. The reason for this "shoot first ask questions later" approach is the ongoing problem with people submitting text and images they've found somewhere on the internet.

The deleted revisions of the article can be restored, and the images themselves have not been deleted (to my knowledge). If you'd make a statement on Talk:Vicksburg Fire Department about the copyright, I'll get it restored as soon as I can. -- Cyrius| 03:46, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that part is sorted out. The Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children article is a separate issue. Unfortunately, you copied the exact words used on your sources of "bare facts", which is not allowed by copyright. Copyright's a pain in the butt, ain't it? -- Cyrius| 09:09, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What bothers me about the article is largely the images. They overwhelm the text and seem to be included just to be included in an article. The images are useful, but they appear stuck in. I don't have a good solution for this, which is part of why I tagged it rather than fixing it. -- Cyrius| 03:55, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aerial platform

[edit]

The redirect was intentional, as aerial platform and platform truck had their contents, histories switched by an administrator on my request - please, as noted, read the discussion on 'platform truck'. I accept the earned rebuke at not having checked the incoming links, and will change the aerial platform article to a disambig page pointing to both.

However, I still think, most people typing 'aerial platform' are more likely to search for the generic aerial work platform term than the firefighting version. Regards MadMaxDog 09:28, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
