The second illustration, of wood spurge (_Euphorbia amygdaloides_), is misattributed to Emily Stackhouse. It is in fact by James Sowerby (1757-1822) and originally appeared as plate 256 in James Edward Smith, _English Botany_, vol. 4, 1795. The image was subsequently reproduced many times, often (as here) "flipped" and without attribution. This illustration should be deleted and replaced with some other image from _Flowers of the Field_. Those by Stackhouse usually bear her initials, "ES," somewhere near the lower part of the stem of the plant in question. Allow me to suggest, as a possible substitute, the illustration of _Oxalis acetosella_ (common wood-sorrel), which may be found in _Flowers of the Field_, vol. 1, p. 132.
