A tag has been placed on Portal:Maheshwarism requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section P2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a portal based on a topic for which there is no non-stub header article, and there are not at least three non-stub articles detailing subject matter that would be appropriate to discuss under the title of that portal.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. (More) That's the "official" notification, but it's not very clear! The idea is that a "portal" should introduce a wide topic area consisting of dozens or even hundreds of articles - Portal:Technology or Portal:Cornwall are typical examples. For Portal:Maheshwarism I can only a couple of articles, both quite short. -- John of Reading (talk) 08:10, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Portal:Maheshwarism, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. The article Maheshwari Akhada has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Can't find anything but blogposts and the like on it

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
