Proposed deletion of Michał Lauer

[edit]

The article Michał Lauer has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article is unreferenced and as such fails the WP:V requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page in the form of "This article now has reliable sources such as..." and ping me back. Thank you,

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Michal Lauer

[edit]

Can you provide sources for Michal Lauer? If you can, you should include them in the article (see Help:Referencing for beginners) and remove the WP:PROD tag (right above the infobox.) If the claims about his medals are true, then he easily passes notability requirements, but a reference is needed (it doesn't have to be an online reference either, and doesn't have to be in English.) --Sammy1339 (talk) 00:26, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can you move the references inline so that each sentence clearly states what sources it is based on? Please note that "Documents passed directly down the family line" are not accepted on Wikipedia. Anybody who received Virtitui Militari is notable, but we need to prove that this individual existed and received such medal with reliable sources. I will ping User:Halibutt who has some experience helping with such articles on Polish military individuals. If you can speak Polish, I suggest you also create a Polish Wikipedia article (but first we need to finish fixing this one). (If you reply here, please WP:ECHO me - thanks). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 03:42, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Piotrus: and others, I did a quick fix at Michał Lauer and converted info provided to WP:CITE format. However, we still need some reference for his Virtuti Militari (which might be hard as there were almost 9000 recipients and I'm not aware of any complete publically-available list and the Stankiewicz list is apparently incomplete) and preferably some more info on his non-military life. //Halibutt 11:26, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
