Great!
[edit]Great! Good to see you join the community. You know, I registered the same way you did: I was a well-experienced anon-editor (about 5,000 edits), I was being prodded to register an account by seven different people, and, I finally did. We have a bit in common. --əˈnongahy ♫Look What I've Done!♫ 16:02, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

adoption
[edit]Hi Tinman - I'm honored to have you as my first adoptee. I'm sure I don't fully know what that in entails but I think it basically means I'm ready to answer any questions you have or guide you through any wiki-tough spots. I'm going to put up this template: {{adopter|Mad Tinman}} on my user page. So, let me know how it's going as a registered user, and drop me a message whenever you like. de Bivort 17:17, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Thoughts on Sónia Araújo
[edit]Hello MT - I haven't spent much time working on biographies, but from what I can discern this looks very good, broad intro stating notability, details cited, very nice. I have some editorial comments on the text of the article, most of which could have to do with minor English awkwardnesses (I'm guessing you are a native Portuguese speaker). 1) It would be nice with a clause to let us know what Praça da Alegria is, 2) regarding "practicing advocacy" do you mean being a lawyer? In English advocacy has connotations of working for social causes, but in romance languages that word means lawyering strictly speaking. 3) The last sentence could be rearranged: "Her participation in the Eurovision Dance Contest through September 10, 2007, lead to an interruption of her television hostess duties."
Yep - that's about all I can think of - just those minor points. This is much better than most articles on people of equivalent notability. Well done! de Bivort 21:02, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, it might be work wikilinking some of the more notable TV shows you mention, for the time when they get their own articles. de Bivort 21:02, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
sources tag
[edit]Hi - I'm pretty sure you want to use Template:Refimprove. de Bivort 19:19, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
- Not surprisingly, your edits look good. Two thoughts. You probably want to use Template:Infobox_Musical_artist in this case, as it is more specific. Also, I personally wouldn't have removed the link to the official site from the external links section, even though it is now in the info box. The guidelines at WP:EL put a lot of importance on linking the official site, so yeah, that's why I'd keep it, even if redundant. de Bivort 19:38, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Hello Tinman - I've read over the article. Pretty interesting stuff. I had no idea this tradition existed. I've made some small changes throughout the article - typos and grammatical fixes mostly. There are still some sentences that don't read correctly. For example: "Every year, freshmen are teased by older students, celebrating their presence at the university they are in institution, and initiating them in it, this and the loss of inhibitions (social or otherwise)[3], being the principle of the praxe" made little sense to me. Also, this paragraph "The praxe is accused of being hypocritical, violating it's principles and codes, dubbed "pseudo-praxe"[2], and the individuals who participate in "pseudo-praxe" dubbed ignorant of it's rules, codes, and more importantly, reasons of being. The praxe is accused of being hypocritical, violating it's principles and codes, dubbed "pseudo-praxe"[2] and" seems broken. Beyond that - most of the awkward turns of phrase will be fixed by subsequent minor edits.. Hopefully. Cheers! de Bivort 20:22, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Shaman tableau
[edit]Dear Mad Tinman,
Thank You very much for Your reassuring words, and also the barnstar. I have tried Your suggestion, and I uploaded another version of the image (while retaining also the original one), which is made entirely black and white. I inserted both versions into Talk:Shamanism#Tableau solutions, so that they can be compared easily.
Best wishes and many thanks, I wish much joy on Wikipedia to You in the new year,
Physis (talk) 03:02, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Dear Mad Tinman,
Thank You for the articles with tableau examples You have written. I have not known about them, I thought that Woman tableau is a rare idea.
Thank You for proposing to do the insertion. You thought well: I do not dare to change the lead image myself yet.
Thank You also for the good wishes and reasssuring. I wish You the same, and much success to Your topics and contributions.
Best wishes,
Physis (talk) 02:53, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
linking images from commons
[edit]Hi tinman - You can link to images on Commons as if they were regularly uploaded images on en.wiki. So I don't think any transfering is required! Cheers, de Bivort 13:44, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
