Steak sauce

[edit]

Hi there,

Although I agree with your moving of the material from brown sauce into steak sauce, I'd appreciate it if you could note that the material has been moved (or taken from another article in the summary). Thank you. Fourohfour 17:54, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

We should start that article as it seems to brought up alot recently. what do you say? or if not add a paragraph about it on the microwave article. User:Maverick423 If It Looks Good Nuke It 21:30, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heh that would be fun =) something like this user has fiddled with EM weapons on his spare time =P. but well as soon as i get home if not tommarow i'll start working on this. what should we call this anyway? Microwave guns or EM weapons? i think their might be a EM weapon article already ill look for it. User:Maverick423 If It Looks Good Nuke It 21:59, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

that was painless. nope no article yet. User:Maverick423 If It Looks Good Nuke It 22:00, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright ill start the article up soon. ill add as much as i can on the subject and maybe a picture or 2. User:Maverick423 If It Looks Good Nuke It 13:34, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

alright just started the article im ganna add everything that i reasearched its quite a bit of info well anyways check it out whenever you can im still expanding it right now but if u see any errors in grammer or spelling or just too much content feel free to fix it up a bit =) User:Maverick423 If It Looks Good Nuke It 16:15, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have commented at the Talk:Microwave_gun page. Please be sure to base this article on factual, cited sources. From what I see so far, it needs a lot of work. The best thing to do is really just to redirect to the Active Denial System article, and add any other content to the Microwave article. Nimur 18:13, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah thanks much i was about to put the sources but i kept getting edit conflicts so now that it seems to have calmed down ill place the sources.User:Maverick423 If It Looks Good Nuke It 19:15, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

yep i was reading it just now. wow everything changed so quickly i dont know where to put my sources any more. there is the police use and the arts and crafts use heh i just never got to those. ill probably add it right now at least the arts and craft use. User:Maverick423 If It Looks Good Nuke It 19:20, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

i found out where they mentioned that it could be used for arts and stuff right here http://www.whynot.net/ideas/1085

i dont know if this counts as a relyable source or just a plain idea so check it out and u tell me =)User:Maverick423 If It Looks Good Nuke It 20:33, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

==Hi Mac, not sure if I'm posting this correctly (am following my previous poster's formatting) but just wanted to thank you for your help in editing the band page. As I was creating it, I was trying to keep track of all of the necessary wiki formatting, but as it was my first page, knew I was falling short. I appreciate your help in this, particularly since I really needed someone to lend a hand to the necessary formatting. Much thanks! Pinotgrigio 09:26, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to the Wikipedia 1.0 Review Team!

[edit]

Hi Mac, Thanks for signing up for the review team. We just released our test CD, which received a surprising amount of press coverage - this indicates that there is a lot of interest in what we're doing. Please help to make the next release even better! Let me know what you're interested in, or if you want some guidance. If you prefer, just take a look at the FAQ page and get started. Thanks! Hi, sorry i came back after a while and read your really long reply, the 2nd last one near the end with the equation. Thanks for it, though it was abeit confusing. Thanks.100110100 05:57, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your welcome. Well, the whole Equation reply was mostly jargon, so it was extremely hard to understand; I tried reading most of the artilces you cited, but they were very long.100110100 22:09, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User trouble

[edit]

Hi I wasn't sure who to go to but you seemed like the right person :P someone keeps removing links from the coilgun section and they claim that the links are broken or contain explicit content even though they do not. This normally wouldn't be a big deal but it's been going on for a long time (check out the history) there was even a RfC at one point and it was decided that the links should stay in but the user seems to be ignoring that. His name is TTLLOGIC. Sorry to bug you for something so trivial but I just hate it when good information is left out of an article :D especially since information on coil guns is pretty scarce even on the internet.Wonkothe31337 04:15, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What I hate is knowing that some kid in school is browsing wikipedia, and looks up coilguns and clicks on your link and it sends him to porn. Please take your link elsewhere. Also info on coilguns is quite abundant on the internet, just type coilgun into Google, if you feel you must post a link to coilgun content you can find thousands of non explicit links that contain information pertaining to coilguns on Google. Thank You! TTLLOGIC 05:00, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There is no porn on the link! here it is: (explicit content) it's been on the wiki for years and there is nothing wrong or broken about the link. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wonkothe31337 (talkcontribs) 05:33, 4 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Link still contains porn so nice try on posting it in more places. Thank You! TTLLOGIC 05:42, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Now that guy is posting warnings on my talk page and one of the warnings he posted and I didn't even add the link back in! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wonkothe31337 (talkcontribs) 05:49, 4 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]
  • I hate to butt into the thread, but it felt appropriate... :P. I have indefinitely blocked User:TTLLOGIC, not only for his repeated 3RR/edit warring, but for a blatant legal threat he posted on my talk page (and reiterated on his) after I protected the article. I still have no idea what the problem is (I only found the article 10 minutes ago, saw the edit war, determined the link was not what he claimed it to be, and reverted) but it's hard to assume good faith with an editor like that. Thank you for your help in reporting the problem to WP:AIV... I hope this causes the problem (whatever it might be?) to die down, at least temporarily. --Kinu t/c 06:37, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Mac Davis,

Hello, it's RR! You might remember me from August 2006, when someone tried to delete a whole bhambhoozles of Halo articles. ;-)

Well, most of those articles I believe have been deleted, and I've drifted away from Wikipedia in disgust of other AfDs...but, erhm, I've come back, and...whas'up, m'man? ;-)

BTW, there is a Halo Wikia: http://halo.wikia.com . If you're interested, I'm sure that your contributions would be most invaluable there! ;-)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Breeshrine.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Breeshrine.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:13, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Garrett A. Morgan

[edit]

Hello, I see that you have played a part in recent changes at Garrett A. Morgan. I ask you to please have a look at the Talk page for this article. I have been at pains for months to undo edits which fly in the face of well-documented facts, and I fear that, recently, you have ended up in the midst of this fray. I am a researcher, historian, and admirer of Morgan, who has spent many years working with Mr. Morgan's papers; I only seek to have his entry reflect the facts as they are, follow NPOV, and to link to any and all relevant pages which reference them, but I have been inundated by folks who just want to use Morgan to blow their own horns. I can't keep up. If you agree that what I have tried to maintain here is reasonably accurate, please protect this page; I can't keep up with the mix of reverts and vandalism, and am at my wit's end. Vandals must have a final warning before being blocked on 194.81.176.254. using TW

[edit]

May 2007

[edit]

Thank you for making a report about 194.81.176.254 (talk · contribs · block log) on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you.

The user has received no warnings since their last block in April. Please try warning them before reporting them to AIV. Waggers 10:05, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it's exactly because the user in question is using a shared IP that we can't assume they've seen any previous warnings.-- Waggers 10:19, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually it turns out they were already warned three times before I reported the IP, and blocked right before you responded back. [Mac Δαvιs]09:06, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Hello

[edit]

Hello again CattleGirl, I see you've made your way to becoming an administrator! *high five* Anyway, I've come here because I noticed constant revisions while I was monitoring the #vandalism-en-wp IRC channel on User_talk:Dfjng. I peeked back in the history and noticed that you added a block notice and the phrase "Please note that continuous reversions of this page may result in the page being protected." This is definitely what is happening, as you can see. User:DarkSaber2k and User:Stephenb may be making quesitonable amounts of reversions that are mucking up my vandal hunting spaces. We've got much better things for them to do than revert a blocked user's talk page! Thanks, [Mac Δαvιs]10:21, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Mac Davis, *high five* :)
Yes, I blocked the user, but as he can still edit the talk page, that is what he'd been doing... you see, whenever I tried to protect it he reverted back right at that second... frustrating. I've fully protected the page for a week now, and have added a note. Cheers- CattleGirl talk | sign! 10:27, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Unicorn gallery. I do not think that Unicorn gallery fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because it clearly has context - staing that it is an art gallery in a specific city is enough context for an editor to find more info. it also has sources cited. This is clearly not a speedy at this point, try AfD if you think it should be deleted. DES (talk) 18:40, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Quicksilverscreenshot.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Quicksilverscreenshot.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:19, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please visit Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Status to update your status. Also, please remember to update your capacity (5th table variable) in the form of a fraction (eg. 2/3 means you are currently coaching 2 students, and could accept 1 more student). Thank you. AfD nomination of YouTorrent

[edit]
An editor has nominated YouTorrent, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/YouTorrent and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:59, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Why do you insist on blanking?"

[edit]

You ask, "why do you insist on continually blanking your talk page?"

I am not the only person using this IP address to contribute to Wikipedia, although I am the most prolific. (This is also not the only IP address I have contributed from.) If I perceive a message on the IP address's talk page as having been intended for me, once I have read it (and replied if appropriate), I delete it so as not to confuse others using the same IP address. Even if I registered and therefore had my own private talk page, I would still delete old content from it, as I see no reason for it to persist.

According to the relevant guideline (look under "Discussion page vandalism"), blanking one's own talk page is "specifically not prohibited".

Speedy deletion of Rihana

[edit]
A tag has been placed on Rihana requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Bright Eyes

[edit]

Hello, Was it you who deleted all (well, most) of the past contributors from the list on the bright eyes page? i feel tempted to revert it, because it is widely-known that bright eyes as a band, is a collective and selective, ever-changing line-up of artists who work/have worked with Conor. All of these artists (the ones with notable refs at least) would be appalled to read that their name had been wiped from the article about a band they were once apart of. I suppose this may exclude the (majority of) artists who only played on one track, but there are several notable and reoccuring artists featured in bright eyes that have been omitted. If this was not you, sorry for ranting on your Talk. Do you agree that this list should be reverted, if not modified/condensed? Thanks. Corythepaperboy (talk) 07:02, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
