IPKF
[edit]I don't agree with your revert to the previous version of peacekeeping as the portrayal of the IPKF was inaccurate and the reasons for its pullout were very different. I would appreciate if you could comment.
Thanks
The WikiHangman Tournament has started!
[edit]Hello! This is a reminder that you have signed up for the Wikipedia:WikiHangman Tournament. Matches have started, and you must move* within the next 24 hours in order to not have your match being forefeitted. Your games are found here.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at my talk page. Good luck!
*"Moving" is defined as guessing a letter (if your first opponent has created their {{Hangman}} yet) or creating your {{Hangman}} to fit your word. Instructions for setting up the Hangman template is found here — Ian Manka Talk to me‼ 00:50, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Prod
[edit]I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Wikipedia:Hangman, which you proposed for deletion, because the page you proposed for deletion was not an article. If you still feel the page should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to it, as Proposed deletion is only for articles. Instead, consider using the deletion process for that kind of page. In some cases, a speedy deletion criterion may apply. Thanks! Funny
[edit]Haha, this is funny. Basically, we had an edir conflict I guess. See the history of Christian Aid. I reverted a vandalism. You reverted ny edits to re-establish that vandalism. Now I have again revetred that! Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 11:24, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
AWB
[edit]Unfortunately, the AutoWikiBrowser requires 500 mainspace edits, that is edits to articles, not 500 total edits. Please reapply when you reach 500. Sorry about the inconvenience, if you have any questions, please contact me. Thanks, Prodego talk 21:32, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing that, I didn't realise it wasn't specified there. Happy editing! Prodego talk 21:49, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I am sorry there was an double editing conflict between us. I know I had to put some sort of warning tag but I did not know how. ( pls help). When I finish with the content and the sources, I'll let you know. You are not a historian, I have noticed, but your grammar/spelling etc help is most valuable.
ThanX

Wikipedia Hangman
[edit]Since CanadaGirl and tv316 have forfeitted on time, we still need one more player in the semifinals. Therefore, I've established a playoff between you and Dante Alighieri, found here. The playoff is only one round -- whoever wins the first round wins the match and the last spot in the semifinals. Good luck! If you have any questions, please see my talk page. Reverted to restore deletion
[edit]Sorry, on the Victor Paul Wierwille entry, I was focused on restoring a heavy-handed cut by someone who removed the cause of death (which is a matter of public record and a subject of some interesting discussions.) I'm new at editing wiki (but an avid reader of the for years.) They removed cause of death and some of the resource links, which at least should have been discussed. That the cause of death, at the very least, should have stayed is attested to by the fact that someone else restored it when I was restoring it. (What are the odds, I ask you?) I didn't see your edits, and, since you're an "old hand" at this, I probably would have agreed with them. I hope to get more facile with this sooner rather than later. I also suspect this is an entry that will be re-edited ad nauseum due to its controversial content. That's one reason why I make additions and edits in very small amounts, with pauses in between. I intend to participate in discussion on the article as well. (And if there was a better way to leave you this message, I'm sorry-please explain it to me.) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Pete Snowball (talk • contribs) 09:36, 2 July 2006.
Cornhole Page
[edit]I posted an external link on the Cornhole page to my www.squidoo.com/cornhole
You removed that link referring to it as spam?
It is not spam, it is a growing resource for Cornhole players. A resource I pulled in from all my online shops that sell cornhole products.
How is my external link any different than http://www.cornhole-game.org/ This site is selling products (boards and bags) in the same manner that I am selling T-shirts and stickers.
Queanbeyan Whites
[edit]Regarding POV on Queanbeyan Whites article. I don't think the comment I wrote regarding David Campese was POV. I included the term "arguably" to show that said comment was not a fact but just a very widely held belief which in all fairness needed to be mentioned. Ronan.evans 12:16, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Starting the final match of WP:WHMT
[edit]Sorry for being so tardy with the final match. Anyways, it looks like things are finally moving forward, and I apologize for making all the rest of you people wait. I can make an excuse here, but the responsibility for keeping the tournament on track is supposed to lie with me. If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Sorry again, Ian Manka Talk to me! 00:25, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
WP:WHMT
[edit]Hello. You may or may not remember this, but some time ago you signed up for a Hangman Tournament hosted here on Wikipedia. The next tournament is about to start, and I was just wondering if you were still interested in participating. If you are, please go to the page (linked above) and bold your name in the sign-up list. This will confirm your registration. If you are not interested any more, please feel free to remove your name from the list. If you haven't responded within 7 days, I will assume you are not interested, and remove you from the list.
If you think anyone else may be interested in this tournament, please drop them a note and ask them to sign up. Good luck, and I hope to see you at the tournament! If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka Talk to me! 13:35, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- It will begin shortly, as soon as I fix my computer at home. Currently, my Internet access is not working, so I have had to resort to using public computers, which I can't use that often to begin with.
- My goal is to start this weekend, but circumstances may prevent me from doing that. Sorry. If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka 13:02, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
WP:WHMT
[edit]Hello, MStraw. You may or may not remember signing up for the Wikipedia Hangman Tournament, but the time has finally arrived for you to start your game! You have until 21:15, 29 November 2024 (UTC) to begin your game by typing {{Wikipedia:WikiHangman Tournament/New|~~~~}} on the corresponding round page. You should also visit your match page, as you will be able to see various aspects of your match.
I would also suggest:
- Familiarizing yourself with the rules of the tournament. The rules include how to win, how to play, and how to navigate amongst the various pages of the tournament.
- Visiting the Tournament 2 page, which has the rules and pairing for the tournament. Use the tournament tree to see tournament updates, as well as
- Placing Wikipedia:WikiHangman Tournament/Tournament 2/Match 8/Round 1/A, Wikipedia:WikiHangman Tournament/Tournament 2/Match 8/Round 1/B, and Wikipedia:WikiHangman Tournament/Tournament 2/Match 8 on your Special:Watchlist, as each of these will be updated with or without notice. As the match progresses, add subsequent pages to your watchlist.
If you have any questions at all regarding the procedures and rules of this tournament, please feel free to contact me at my talk page. Thanks again, and good luck!
In case you are wondering why it took so long to begin this tournament, my computer was not operating correctly, and my Internet usage was limited to public computers. My opportunities to use public computers were limited, so needless to say, I didn't have a lot of time to commit to Wikipedia. So, sorry if this has caused you any inconvience. Good luck! If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka 02:24, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
wikEd
[edit]Hi, I have seen that you are using the Cacycle editor extension. This program is no longer actively maintained in favor of its much more powerful successor wikEd.
wikEd has all the functionality of the old editor plus:• syntax highlighting • nifty image buttons • morefixing buttons • paste formatted text from Word or web pages• convert the formatted text into wikicode • adjustthe font size • and much, much more.
Switching to wikEd is easy, check the detailed installation description on its project homepage. Usually it is as simple as changing every occurrence of editor.js into wikEd.js on your User:YourUsername/monobook.js page.

Motto of the day
[edit]Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.
When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.
If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 01:43, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014
[edit]→ Everyone be quiet, including me. Shhh! Who's making that noise? Oh, it's me again.
Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.
Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- This message has been sent by pjoef on behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors of the English Wikipedia who are showing MOTD's templates on their pages, and to all the participants to MOTD: (page, template, and category).
