Hey, stop reverting my edits to Mushroom Kingdom, my edits are detailed and informative. At least provide a reason for the deletion other than sending retarded useless messages on my talk page! 2601:44:0:FF17:DD42:FBD3:1FE1:CE72 (talk) 01:28, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

Changes this week
- The list of other languages an article is available in will be shorter on small Wikipedias and non-Wikipedia projects. This is to make it easier to find the most relevant languages for each user. You will still be able to see the other languages. [9][10]
- Alerts (the red badge) will not be automatically marked as read when you open the Notifications popup. [11]
- When you get several thanks you can see them as one notification. This is instead of one notification for each thanks. [12]

I have added in the League of Nations the sentence "At much the same time, Soviet Foreign Minister Maxim Litvinov facilitated the acceptance of the USSR into the League of Nations, as part of Litvinov's support of collective security, and his efforts form a closer relationship with France and Britain. Thus, the League's membership never included both Germany and the USSR, but only one of them at a time." The infomration was taken from the Maxim Litvinov page. Until I added it, the League of Nations page did not include the fact that the USSR did join the League in 1933 - and now that you reverted it, it again does not include this fact. Why is this edit "vandalism"? Why am I threatend with being blocked because of this "vandalism"? 79.178.128.51 (talk) 20:50, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
- @79.178.128.51: I used Huggle to revert your edit and when the final warning is issued, it always says "vandalize". Your edit was not vandalism. However, your edit was unsourced and that is why I reverted it. Keep this in mind: adding unsourced content again will likely result in a block. —MRD2014 T C 21:03, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
- The fact that the Soviet Union joined the League of Nations in 1933 is a well-known historical fact, which I think is quite relevant for the page on the League of Nations. I think defining it as "unsourced content" is a ridiculous hair-splitting. But OK, I will find a reliable source for this undisputed and well-known historical fact and then put it is in again. 79.178.128.51 (talk) 22:55, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
- Wikipedia has a policy on verifiability, so that is why I removed it. You can read Wikipedia:Citing sources to help you in citing the source. —MRD2014 T C 23:13, 21 June 2016 (UTC)

Recent changes
- The ORES service has now moved to a new location. This should make it easier to use ORES. The ORES review service is now available as a beta feature on Wikidata and Persian Wikipedia. ORES is an artificial intelligence system for Wikimedia wikis to help editors. [13]
- The order of wikis in collapsed cross-wiki notifications was different than when the list was expanded. This is now fixed. [14]
- A new category for tracking pages with math errors was added: Category:Pages with math errors. [15]
Problems
Changes this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 28 June. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 29 June. It will be on all wikis from 30 June (calendar).
- The way to mark notifications as read or unread will be changed to be more clear. [18]
Meetings
- You can join the next meeting with the VisualEditor team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs you think are the most important. The meeting will be on 28 June at 19:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- The Collaboration team at the Wikimedia Foundation will look at developing better tools for edit review. This is because research suggests we scare away newcomers who want to help. [19]
- An e-mail from the Editing Department explains the technical work that is planned and being researched for the future. Items include better wikitext and visual editing, prompts for edits, language improvements, annotations, and meta-data separation. [20]
- The sorting of Notifications into the two fly-out menus is going to change on July 5 to 7. Bundled notifications should be easier to explore and mark as read individually. [21][22][23]
- From 29 June git.wikimedia.org (running Gitblit) will redirect all requests to Phabricator. The vast majority of requests should be correctly redirected. [24]
- Catalan and Polish Wikipedias will have Wikidata descriptions added to articles in the mobile view by default. This is currently a beta option for the mobile versions. This might come to other wikis later. [25]

Hey there! You reverted some changes I made to the Compass 360 Racing entry. This page refers to the car racing team that I own. The information thereon is out of date; most specifically the team's name has changed to C360R. Can you advise me how to make that change? Once that's complete I'll update the entry with current information.
Many thanks,

- @964c2cab: First, don't replace all the content with "This entry is no longer valid" because I assumed that was vandalism (and I'm sure others would too). Second, you can add {{Update}} to the top of the article to alert others. Third, if you want to update it yourself, you must provide reliable sources. To change its title, hover the mouse cursor over the "More" button next to the search bar. Click on "Move" that will appear under "More". In the text box next to the box that says "(Article)", change the text to "C360R", provide the reason in the "Reason" box, then click "Move". —MRD2014 T C 16:59, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
I agree with your recent reversion of a large edit by an IP editor of United States Air Force Expeditionary Center using material from the center's web site. However, since this is a US Air Force web site, the material is in the public domain, so no WP:COPYVIO. On the other hand, it's a direct quote of a large amount of material without credit to the author, so it lacked in two other areas. --Lineagegeek (talk) 23:36, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

Recent changes
- A new image scaler fixed a number of bugs for showing SVG files. Some new problems turned up. [28][29][30]
- Notifications are grouped by types. They are now counted by number of notifications and not by unread groups. That change may increase the number of notifications displayed. The earlier way of counting was often incorrect. Unread notifications will also be displayed first. [31][32][33]
- Special:Notifications now has a maximum width for the notifications list on desktop computers. This allows long titles and descriptions to be cut properly. Notifications are now also better parsed. [34][35][36]
Problems
- On 5 July Wikimedia Commons had problems and could not be edited for 20 minutes. For a short while after that the recent changes log and some gadgets were not working properly. It affected administrative actions on other projects too. [37]
- Users who have multiple unread notifications can mark them as read by visiting Special:Notifications page on their wiki.

Hi MRD2014 and thanks for your interest in helping with copyright clean-up. I see you have been assessing some of the cases listed at User:EranBot/Copyright/rc. Did you know we have a new tool being developed on Labs, at https://tools.wmflabs.org/copypatrol? The tool uses the EranBot pages as a database and presents the information in a slightly different format. There's advantages and disadvantages both ways. I just thought I'd let you know in case you didn't realize it exists. The main reason I want to alert you is because I am using the new tool on Labs, and it does not go back to the database at User:EranBot/Copyright/rc and update it with my assessments. However, whatever work you do at User:EranBot/Copyright/rc will get updated on Labs. My concern is that you may be reviewing cases that I have already checked. I am usually working on the previous day's reports and you are working on current day, so there may in fact not be an issue. Hope this all makes sense! Best, — Diannaa (talk) 20:32, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Diannaa: I have seen it and have tried it. Thanks for the heads-up. —MRD2014 T C 20:42, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
- Hi MRD2014. I just found out that I was wrong; the data from whatever you mark on the Copyright/rc page is marked on that page only, and is not transferred to the tools.wmflabs.org/copypatrol page. So in order to avoid duplication of work, it would be best if you mark your checked items at https://tools.wmflabs.org/copypatrol. You might be interested in following or contributing to the discussions on Meta, at meta:Talk:Community Tech/Improve the plagiarism detection bot. Thanks, — Diannaa (talk) 20:31, 11 July 2016 (UTC)

Dear MRD2014, The article of the Magnificent Seven of Port-of-Spain is sill a work in progress. Most of the text was retrieved from web sources which have not yet been referenced. The article should be written in authoritative and academic prose, hence, the avoidance of the use of pronouns and derivative language. Also, to avoid plagiarism, the many sources have to be merged and rewritten to be cogent and coherent. Thanks for your feed back. Perhaps it would have been better to indicate that a citation was needed rather than remove the edit. As per STiki guidlines: 'Uncertainty over constructiveness: If a user is uncertain about whether an edit is constructive, the quickest solution is often to perform a web search (e.g., with Google); this may reveal whether some "fact" is true. Of course, STiki users should consider the reliability of the source found. If no reliable source can be found, the correct response may be to add a {{Citation needed}}....' — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.38.135.178 (talk) 22:27, 18 July 2016 (UTC)
- I tend to just revert the edit in most cases. According to WP:RS, any material likely to be challenged must be sourced. I can't add that template directly via STiki. —MRD2014 T C 22:53, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

- @166.70.213.246: Thank you. Your edit said "revert if you disagree" and I didn't see the talk page. Now I've seen it and it doesn't look like consensus. I see both Keep and Merge. —MRD2014 T C 01:25, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
- Ok. I saw more merge than keeps, but I guess that means it hangs around a bit longer. 166.70.213.246 (talk) 01:29, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
- I was the one that proposed this Requested Merge. Currently there are 17 "merge" comments and 5 "keep" comments. That is not a SNOW result and the discussion has only been open two or three days. IMO it should remain open for discussion for a bit longer, probably for the canonical week, and should then be properly closed. --MelanieN (talk) 01:40, 24 July 2016 (UTC)

- Some abuse filters will have to be updated during the week. This is because a bug will be fixed. [70]
- In compact language links, two new kinds of languages will be shown in the shorter language list: Languages that are used in the article's text, and languages where the article has a badge like "featured article" or "good article". [71][72]
- The visual editor will be available by default for logged-out editors on Wikipedias that use the Arabic script. It is already default for logged-in editors. [73]
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from August 16. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from August 17. It will be on all wikis from August 18 (calendar).
Meetings
- You can join the next meeting with the VisualEditor team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs you think are the most important. The meeting will be on August 16 at 19:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- Starting the week of August 22 there will be three software deployment windows. They will be at 13:00, 18:00, and 23:00 UTC. This is to have more times when software of the wikis can be updated and make it easier for developers in different parts of the world. [74]

Thank you for reviewing and finding them not candidates for speedy deletion. As it seems Sir Joseph is not online at the moment, and he being the one marking the main article and some others for speedy deletion, I would appreciate if you could check these pages (and talk page) and sort it out. I am surprised they got tagged with it, and somewhat distraught. Have a good day! Thanks. --Simen113 (talk) 21:11, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Simen113: I removed the speedy deletion tag from Vasily Saltykov because I have no idea how that got nominated for speedy deletion as a hoax. —MRD2014 T C 21:50, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you. I was confused as well. No input on the main page (List of persons with the surname Saltykov)? EDIT: turns out it was deleted, while a page like List of persons with the surname Urusov remain.... What the hell. Can you please helped? I spent a lot of time translating the page! Very annoying as I left a comment which seemed to be ignored and the page just deleted as an "obviously unnecessary page". It exists on several other wikis. Please, please aid. These edits are done by @RHaworth:which seems to not respond to a comment on his talk page, and not understand the crucial difference that not all people with the surname Urusov or Saltyakov are nobility, which is why two separate articles are necessary. He seems to delete it because they are "redundant", but listing non-noble people in an article concerning a noble family doesn't make sense. He has also without even discussing with me made the pages administrator only, which only adds to the tension. I do not know where else to contact so I have to write it here. --Simen113 (talk) 21:55, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Simen113: Materialscientist moved the former page you mentioned to Saltykov, and RHaworth moved the latter to Urusov. Neither of those pages were deleted. They were moved because we have to get the titles as concise as possible. If you need any more help, place {{Help me}} on your talk page ask your question, or you if need help from an administrator, place {{Admin help}} on your talk page. —MRD2014 T C 22:52, 15 August 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for a reply. I saw this, but Materialscientist also first deleted the Saltykov page to make room for the move. I contend these actions, because I believe there needs to be a distinction between the noble family (an article to discuss its history, origin and members), and a general list of all people with the surname, as not all people with the surname belong to the noble family. What do you think? Also: Should I then, if I consider it necessary to resolve this dispute, use the templates you gave me in a post on my own talk page?--Simen113 (talk) 11:06, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Simen113: The page got deleted because it was blocking the page move. I don't know what else to say. If you want to ask for help on your talk page using the templates I mentioned earlier in this thread, go right ahead. —MRD2014 T C 13:21, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
Netprotect (talk) 15:22, 17 August 2016 (UTC)Please let me know where I have added promotional material to Wikipedia about Sahara India Pariwar. I would be obliged.Netprotect (talk) 15:22, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
- On second thought, I don't think this was completely promotional, but you added a telephone number, and you should not add phone numbers to Wikipedia per WP:NOTDIRECTORY. —MRD2014 (talk) (contribs) 15:31, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
Netprotect (talk) 17:05, 17 August 2016 (UTC)Ok, I will not use telephone number in future, thank you.Netprotect (talk) 17:05, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

You have accused me of forbidding another Wikipedian to disagree with me. Your accusation is based ONLY on out-of-context quoting. Another Wikipedian ordered me not to disagree with him. That is the worst behavior I've ever seen on Wikipedia. I objected to that. You are accusing me of that, when I was the one who objected to it. Michael Hardy (talk) 05:41, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Michael Hardy: Thanks for clarifying. —MRD2014 (talk) (contribs) 13:53, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
- @MRD2014: : Why do you leave the false accusation intact rather than withdrawing it once you realize it was a mistake? Michael Hardy (talk) 04:42, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Michael Hardy: I withdrew that part. —MRD2014 (talk) (contribs) 12:08, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for setting this straight. Michael Hardy (talk) 23:04, 21 August 2016 (UTC)

I just wanted to point out that the website where you found the Beginning section for the band 36? was indeed written by the singer of the band, that festival just copied directly from the material we provided them. If this is an issue I will ask the festival to remove the content so that we are able to use our own written content to describe the journey of the band. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LandlockedMGMT (talk • contribs) 02:35, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
