Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "MNyv2WhCXHJuGDYmoDvAUB043QDXsu", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Dusti*poke* 01:33, 25 June 2013 (UTC) [reply]

Can you please tell me why you think this violates username policy? I value my privacy, and use random usernames for ALL sites, in order to maintain that privacy. Reading that page, my username is not misleading, not disruptive or offensive, and certainly not promotional. The username might fall under "confusing": "This is often the case with confusing or extremely lengthy usernames, which are highly discouraged but which are not so inappropriate on their own as to require action." MNyv2WhCXHJuGDYmoDvAUB043QDXsu (talk) 01:37, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You're absolutely right! Your username on it's own isn't a violation, but it's not exactly an appropriate name either due to it's lengthy-ness. I'm simply concerned due to the length of the name, as it is confusing and extremely long. You are welcome to keep it if you wish, though it may be better in the long run if you request to be re-named to something shorter (and you can still keep your anonymity). If you have any questions, let me know! Dusti*poke* 01:41, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There's nothing wrong with this username in regards to policy, the only problem I see is that it may be difficult for someone to respond to what you say. Also, I'm not sure if your userpage could be deleted because of it being encrypted gibberish. --wL<speak·check> 02:46, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
After looking things up, yes, your userpage can't be displayed as it did before. --wL<speak·check> 02:48, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have changed it to a wikilinked non-nonsense page that is comprehensible. Anyone replying to me can abbreviate my name or copy and paste (as would be required with many longer names), and I've seen many long signatures that are more distracting.
