Nanuet & Images?
[edit]Hi- i never heard that rumor about the chief buried under Nanuet high school, but i went there. Did you? All my friends always talked about his body either under the Diner or else somewhere under the Rockland plaza shopping center there. -oh and I was wondering how i can add images to a wikipedia site...i guess i can read the tutorial...but im lazy --Toredyvik 08:13, 17 May 2006
Hi I just needed to send you a message about the message you sent me about the fantastico deluxe. As this is my first message, I have no idea what is the correct way to message, so I hope you would forgive. The text of Fantastico deLuxe is what Fantastico deluxe describes itself as. I am pretty sure it cannot be the copyright of the site you mentioned. If you have access to any cpanel hosting, you can check that it is in exact order and description from the fantastico tab. I would apreciate your inputs on this matter. Thanks. Shabda Sorry about my mistake with your user page. I learnt about it later but by then I ahd forgotten I wrote on your user page.
License tagging for Image:2006 Gallon Challenge.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:2006 Gallon Challenge.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:04, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I have come here to ask that you please stop watching each and every thing that I do. I ask that we can please go in different directions and hopefully not come into contact again. For whatever reason you have an unwarranted vendetta against me. While I understand you editing information out of pages just because they contained tidbits that you did not know, that does mean that those tidbits are incorrect. Once again that please stop watching me and allow us both to continue enjoying and adding to Wikipedia. God Bless and Aloha.
- You are gladly welcome to cite your source on any of the pages that you are vandalizing. --MMX 23:29, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Once again you use these harsh words that are simply not true and now because of this flawed system at wikipedia I cannot even do anything about you ruining my once perfect reputation. I ask that if you wish to continue "stalking" me to please at least not use such harsh and incorrect words. I am not a criminal yet you keep trying to portray me as one and it has come to the point that I do not know what to do and feel threatened by your words and hope that the administrators will find some way to let us both go our own ways. --Jud383729
- I don't need the administrators to tell me that you're full of shit. --MMX 23:43, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hi MMX, what article are you guys trying to edit? I'll be glad to take a look at the article and try to make suggestions. --Deathphoenix ʕ 01:03, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

- It's not even the edits. I'll admit that I made a mistake on Duane Chapman. I had read that he was from Nanuet, NY, however I irresponsibly did not check the validity of this, which goes against wikipedia. It is about the fact that he has been taking things a step further with vulgarities and name calling, which obviously has no place on wikipedia. I wish no harm to him and mean no disrespect, but has he considered that younger children may somehow find their way into his talk page. Once again I hope that me and him can get a long or at the very least go our separate ways, however he does not seem to want to let things die down. --Jud383729 01:09, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- To clarify I am not trying to edit an article with this user; I started watching their contributions because they added nonsense to a number of articles in my watchlist. I will continue to watch this user's contributions for bad faith edits. --MMX 01:16, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for the clarification. --Deathphoenix ʕ 01:24, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- It has gone far beyond editing my articles for whatever reasons. You resorted to name calling and vulgarities without their being any reasoning for it. All I hope is for an apology. I think it is honorable that you are willing to take time out of your busy day to monitor me and I feel my correct course of action is to return the favor and monitor your "bad faith" edits in order keep eachother on our toes. God Bless and Aloha. --Jud383729 15:23, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Pulickel Ajayan.jpg)
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Pulickel Ajayan.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Mr. Lefty Talk to me! 23:54, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, no problem. I just found the picture before you put it in the article. In the future, if that happens, you can remove the tag yourself; you won't get in trouble. :) --Mr. Lefty Talk to me! 00:04, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- For anyone interested the photo has been added to the article for Dr. Pulickel Ajayan --MMX 00:07, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
Okay, I think I can live with the Hydorxycut article the way it is now. If you want to add the stuff about MuscleTech, it would probably be better to do it on the MuscleTech article. And I thought you were too harsh on Dr. John Marshall since in the commercials he doesn't hide the fact that he's in residency. Chicken Wing 04:19, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Your welcome, I'm glad I could add my vandalism to the Annan article! I'm afraid that I'm just gonna' keep vandalizing articles. You can't stop me, I'm the elbo-man! (edited by MMX: bunch of hahahahaing)

blu ray or HD DVD
[edit]Hey. It depends on a few things.. If you have a HD televison first off all. and how bad you want HD. I think in the end blu ray will likely be the winner due to higher storage capacity more companies manufacturing, more studios, scratch guard, actual resonably priced recorders for pcs etc. however prices right now are rediculous and I would recommend holding off until at least after the consumer electronic show (CES) in january as prices tend to drop on older models as the next years models are annonced and profile 2.0 players will likely be announced. by the middle to end of next year we should prob see some reasonable prices.. at this point for blu ray I could only recommend the ps3 and thats if you play games and want blu ray as its like getting a gaming system free (but even thats pricy). I would not recommend ANY blu ray unless its at least profile 1.1 or really profile 2.0 (which is the final standard with ethernet capabilities and no players have been released yet on that profile, profile 1.0 players are basically a beta test your paying loads of cash to be in.. they will be the "walmart specials" barebones in the future as all new models relesed now must be 1.1 or 2.0) that being said..If you absolutly want HD now and can't wait.. try to pick up an HD DVD a2 if you can get one for under $100 at some of the "fire sales" that have been going on to clear inventory. With the 5 free movies (which retail $20-30 its a no brainer in my opinion as its almost like getting the device for free) The picture quality is great and there still is alot of HD DVD's avail with lots more being released. and IF blu-ray does win there will be plenty of HD's avail for $5.. If HD DVD wins your covered. Hope this helps -Tracer9999 13:04, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- I also recommend HD DVD, the A2 is on Amazon for under $200.Swisspass 19:30, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Palisades Mall
[edit]I'm quite chill, thank you, and don't mention it. Happens to the best of us. :-)
As for the rules in question, Wikipedia disclaims its major policies, including Citing Sources and Civility, quite ubiquitously to anyone who looks around. By contrast, the mall featured no such disclaimers that I've noticed, and I've all over it countless times. Even if they eventually did place such signage in appropriate areas, they could not prevent people from photographing the mall's exterior from an adjacent property or street. In any event, the photos have now already been taken, and as such, I can most certain release them into the public domain, since the copyright on them belonged to me, not them. If Pyramid wishes to contest that, then they can do so with Wikipedia through more formal channels.
Btw, please sign your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of them. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 07:55, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
- The article on trade dress you linked to says this applies to use by competitors in the manner of a trademark. A reference source like WP isn't a competitor, nor is a person taking a personal photograph. Nor do they qualify as "trade or advertising purposes", which is the use mentioned in the other page you linked to. As for the rules, there are a number of entrances/exits in that mall, and if there were such rules posted, they were not posted ubiquitiously for me to see them casually. In any event, Happy Holidays. :-) Nightscream 06:13, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use Image:Pulickel_Ajayan.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Pulickel_Ajayan.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 19:55, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
