Image tagging for Image:DVHS.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DVHS.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Orphaned non-free image (Image:DVHS.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DVHS.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:02, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to WikiProject Germany

[edit]

Welcome, MKLPTR, to the WikiProject Germany! Please direct any questions about the project to its talk page. If you create new articles on Germany-related topics, please list them at our announcement page and tag their talk page with our project template {{WikiProject Germany}}. A few features that you might find helpful:

  • The project's Navigation box points to most of the pages in the project that might be of use to you.
  • Most of the important discussions related to the project take place on the project's main talk page; you may find it useful to watchlist it.
  • We've developed a number of guidelines for names, titles, and other things to standardize our articles and make interlinking easier that you may find useful.

Here are some tasks you can do. Please remove completed tasks from the list.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or any of the more experienced members of the project, and we'll be very happy to help you. Again, welcome, and thank you for joining this project! Agathoclea (talk) 22:30, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Landkreis/county/district

[edit]

I don't think it's a good idea to rename the district of Kaiserslautern to Kaiserslautern County. In English wikipedia all other Kreise are called district, are you suggesting we rename them all? "County" meaning "land of a count" is another word in German: Grafschaft. As I said, this translation is according to a guideline of the European Union. User Page

[edit]

Hi there. I'm not sure if you're aware of it or not, so I thought I'd better mention it: The use of the first stanza of the Deutschlandlied (the "über alles" one) is seen as offensive be some Germans and does not have anthem status (see here). The same applies to the Imperial flag you use, which, at least inside Germany, normally indicates a negative attitude to German democracy (see here). athinaios (talk) 19:23, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Elbtunnel

[edit]

Please do not move pages by cut and paste, it violates the copyright of the original contributors. To figure out the correct pagename, we should try to see what is the most common usage in English, or use the German name if no common English name exists. The correct way to rename pages is using the "move" page at the top; if there is something at the destination that is blocking the move, please use our move request instructions. This helps avoid page histories becoming disconnected. Thank you, Kusma (talk) 09:47, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have filed a move request; please comment at Talk:New Elbe Tunnel. Thank you, Kusma (talk) 06:25, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Delta_logo.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Jusjih (talk) 03:27, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:DVIMG.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DVIMG.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:06, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:WikiProject Germany/Transportation

[edit]

Could you take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Germany/Transportation where you are a member. There has been an issue with the banner effecting the WP Germany banner. It should be included as a taskforce anyway, but the scope of your project is rather unclear. Could you help clarify? Agathoclea (talk) 13:31, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Split Autobahn

[edit]

Thank you for your contribution to the discussion at Talk:Autobahn#Split_or_Merger on whether Autobahn should be split to articles Motorways of Switzerland and German Autobahns. The proposal was made a very long time ago and appears to have gained a reasonable amount of support. It is now time to bring the discussion to a close. Please add your final comments at Talk:Autobahn#Split or Merger so the proposal can be actioned or abandoned. Thanks, Nankai (talk) 21:10, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Women's history editathon

[edit]

Hey - Sorry for the late notice, but since you have yourself tagged as living in the Bay Area, I thought you might appreciate notification that we’re having an event Saturday! It’ll be held at Hoyt Hall, an all-women's house of the Berkeley Student Cooperative from 3 to 6 pm tomorrow. The main event page is here. Anyone is welcome to show up, but we’re expecting a significant number of people to come who have literally never edited Wikipedia before. If you’re an experienced Wikipedian who would be able to provide useful help to some of the newbies, your presence would be especially appreciated (and it might be a good idea for you to show up at 2 or 2:30 instead of three. Thanks, Kevin Gorman (talk) 02:04, 6 April 2013 (UTC) I’m AWB’ing this message to all Wikipedians who have tagged themselves in the bay area. I’m sorry if the message isn’t of interest to you; feel free to delete it. I’ll be unlikely to send future messages in a similar way, but if really don’t want to receive future messages of this sort, please let me know. [reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 10:01, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Deer Valley High School logo.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Deer Valley High School logo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
