June 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Flemmish Nietzsche. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Yusuf Adil Shah, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 07:26, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Flemmish Nietzsche I can't cite references as iam studying author book. If possible definitely i will do so. M.S. Mohammad Adil Sha (talk) 07:38, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why does you reading an author's book mean you can't cite it? I'm also certain Yusuf Adil Khan wasn't born in 1490 as he was a slave and later friend of Mahmud Gawan, who died in 1481. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 07:40, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Flemmish Nietzsche A. D. 1490 is his reigning year, not born year. M.S. Mohammad Adil Sha (talk) 08:16, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I know, but the parentheses after the bold in the lead are for the person's birth and death date, and the years when they "flourished" (reigned) are only used when those dates are unknown, and they are known here. Could you also answer my question of why you can't cite the book you're apparently reading? Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 08:20, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Flemmish Nietzsche Ok. And because the book is in regional language. M.S. Mohammad Adil Sha (talk) 09:20, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@M.S. Mohammad Adil Sha Thank you for adding content to the Yusuf Adil Shah article, but when citing this book, "History of Karnataka", could you please cite the page number(s) where you found this information, as this is required to help others verify your claims, and in addition also cite at least a URL where more info on this book can be found or an ISBN? I'm sure there's many books called "History of Karnataka", so it would be great if you would identify which book this is specifically. Thanks. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 07:37, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Flemmish Nietzsche Ok, i will do so. M.S. Mohammad Adil Sha (talk) 06:10, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In addition to the issue I raised, please also try to use correct grammar and adhere to the manual of style when editing; this includes problems with your writing such as using ampersands and contractions, which should almost always not be used, underuse of articles, and other things mentioned in the manual of style. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 07:48, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Flemmish Nietzsche Ok, fine. M.S. Mohammad Adil Sha (talk) 06:10, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
