A tag has been placed on Màiri MacInnes, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. == Proposed changes for Màiri MacInnes article ==
Dear CactusWriter,
Thank you for your feedback. I understand the COI guidelines and will no longer edit the article directly. I’d like to propose some neutral, well-sourced changes using reliable sources. Could you or another editor assist in reviewing and implementing these proposed edits?
Proposed changes:
- Change the sentence "MacInnes performed with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra at Celtic Connections in 2019" to "MacInnes performed with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in 2019" with this citation: [1].
- Update the citation for her Celtic Connections performance to this BBC link: [2].
- Remove the reference to her opening the South Ford Causeway as I have been unable to find a reliable source to verify this claim.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best regards,
MàiriMacInnes

Hi MàiriMacInnes. I've added the two citations to the article. However, I did not change the text because the reference mentions only the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra at Celtic Connections in 2019. It does refer to the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. If you do find a reliable source for the South Ford Causeway, the info can be re-added. Please note that the source does not to be online, but can be from a physical paper source such as a 1982 newspaper article. CactusWriter (talk) 22:40, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, MàiriMacInnes. I appreciate that you have placed the Conflict of Interest notice on your user page as the subject of the article Màiri MacInnes. However, you must follow the guidelines for COI editing as described at WP:COI (particularly at WP:COIEDIT). I previously deleted the promotional language and links from the article. This prevented the article from being speedily deleted as promotional. But then you added some back. I have now reverted your most recent edits where you re-added sources: an online Wiki that is invalid as a reliable source and a music sales site which is promotional advertising. A demonstration of non-neutral promotional editing is a reason that COI editors should not be editing articles about themselves. Please do not edit this article or any others in which you are involved directly. Instead you may propose changes on talk pages (by using the {{edit COI}} template), or by posting a note at the COI noticeboard, so that they can be peer-reviewed. If you have any questions about this, please ask. Best CactusWriter (talk) 16:02, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
