All I have done is listed the film credits which are available to view on the Internet movie database under my husbands name Johnny Lynch ??? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.169.214 (talk) 06:37, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That's not the main problem, the problem is that the article for your husband can only exist if you can establish that he is notable enough to have an article about him on Wikipedia. Please see these two pages for more information: WP:N and WP:BIO. Thanks for understanding, TheCascadian 06:53, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Understood, well I will leave that to your judgement, he has placed over 30.000 people now in over 100 film and TV, music productions amongst his credits, to be honest he is very well respected within the uk film industry by his peers and colleagues. The credits see there as proof ao am unsure what more evidence I can odder, thank for getting back to me,
It's not a matter of judgement, it's a matter of demonstration. You need to cite independent, reliable, outside sources that show significant coverage. Please read WP:GNG. Also, on a side note, please sign your posts with ~~~~. TheCascadian 07:09, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK Sorry, Thanks for your help. Here is his official internet movie database page. The credits on this page can only be listed if approved by each production company I have listed. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3250640/reference
Hope that helps.
Thanks
J Lynch
An imdb page does not establish notability. Please read these pages for reasons why: WP:RS/IMDB and Wikipedia:External_links/Perennial_websites#IMDb. We need multiple sources that demonstrate coverage. Some news articles about him would suffice. Please read WP:GNG again in detail, please. TheCascadian 07:34, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK Thanks for the clarification. I will be gone for the day but here is a link to a homeless documentary film he is making covering a UK former soldier who finished walking the entire UK coast line on 10th March. It is currently nearly finished in regards to the edit. Here is a link to the story covering the documentary. http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/sheringham_producer_s_dream_to_help_the_homeless_1_2230823
Hope that helps and thanks for your time today

J Lynch
Perfect, that's what we're looking for. Now all we need is one or more similar sources (depending on how good they are) to establish notability. Let me know if you find other articles about him. The more the better. TheCascadian 07:51, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Those sources mention him here and there, but none are actually about him. We need at least one other source that is either about him or has a significantly large chunk of it about him. Let me know if you find anything! TheCascadian 01:06, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Cascadian. Is this any good. Here is a piece on Johnny on his production 'Homelessness' of which he is currently in production at this time http://frompage2screen.wordpress.com/2013/05/23/some-news-from-broken-films-ukhomelessness/
That would work except for one thing I forgot to mention: Wikipedia does not consider blogs to be reliable sources. See WP:BLOGS for more info. TheCascadian 01:17, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Cascadian. I understand blogs wouldn't be considered reliable. in the first instance I sent you the newspaper Eastern Daily Press article on Johnny. Here is the North Norfolk which also picked up the story. http://www.northnorfolknews.co.uk/news/sheringham_producer_s_dream_to_help_the_homeless_1_2230823
Hope that helps.

Unfortunately those articles appear to be identical and the websites themselves are almost identically formatted so it looks like they are affiliated somehow. TheCascadian 02:01, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Understood Cascadian. Thanks very much J Lynch

No problem, let me know if you find another good source. TheCascadian 02:07, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Lynch Johnny. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Ok, that's similar in that it's related to the article topic though. Please see this for more details: TheCascadian 06:13, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If you did write the WordPress, please read this page. The page will teach you how to donate your content to Wikipedia. I sent 5 references, one of them is a wikipedia page? I have delated the content on the wordpress page so is that now alright??

What am wanting. I have tried in vain to create a page. I submitted approx 30 references and was asked to send only a few and now my page is missing. I have no idea what to do next and sending me to a treehouse does nothing. I can't show them my page, where is my page. is it deleted forever. Can I get it back so can edit it?

I really am exasperated after a year of creating a page with over 8 years of my work logged I can't find it and have deleted the content on my wordpress site so it doesn't conflict

Thank you.

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Lynch Johnny. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 12:06, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • As far as the site goes, you will have to give Wikipedia permission by filing a ticket through WP:OTRS. However be careful, as the material was also fairly promotional (as you wrote it to promote yourself on your personal website) so you would likely have to re-write it in order to meet WP:NPOV guidelines. Also, I saw that you heavily used IMDb as a source, however this website cannot establish notability - nor can your own website, as it's a WP:PRIMARY source. What you need are things like news articles written about you. The reason for this is that it's expected that people will work within their chosen career, so Wikipedia needs more than just an IMDb entry. Another thing to take into consideration is that starring in a notable production or working with notable people doesn't automatically give notability either, as notability is WP:NOTINHERITED. If the role was minor and/or didn't get coverage, it most likely wouldn't be the type of thing that would establish notability. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 12:11, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Those IMDb sources was within main body I think. Was the pages of the films and understand that Wiki doesn't deem them reliable. In the resources body I chose 5 sources as had previously was asked to include one more but included 30 newspaper reports. Was asked to send in just a couple and now I can't find my page to edit. Am so confused. I get asked for one thing, do it and then everything changes Lynch Johnny (talk) 12:23, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, am going to take them all out, Its my Bio which is really all I want and will edit if need be. Lynch Johnny (talk) 12:25, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
