Welcome!
[edit]Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Lykan Digital93, and welcome to Wikipedia! While efforts to improve Wikipedia are always welcome, unfortunately, your contributions are not written in English that is good enough to be useful. You appear to be more familiar with Italian; did you know there is an Italian Wikipedia? You may prefer to contribute there instead. In any case, welcome to the project, and thank you for your efforts! RA0808 talkcontribs 16:02, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
Benvenuto!
- Hi KylieTastic, Thanks for the review.
- I literally " copied " the structure of this videogame article: Mutation Nation
- can i undestand better what are the differences that stops my article to be published? i really need to have the article out because my game is not appearing in the search engines. Lykan Digital93 (talk) 14:56, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, Lykan Digital93 if you read the notice above it is not a comment on structure but notability. All new articles on Wikipedia have to show the subject is notable (See WP:N) which in most cases requires significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV) in multiple independent (WP:INDY) reliable sources (WP:RS). Draft:Mutation ( videogame ) has only one independent source - aka the review. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 14:59, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- "i really need to have the article out because my game is not appearing in the search engines." I am afraid, @Lykan Digital93, that this is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. We do not exist to promote your video game.
- So far you have not shown how your game meets our notability criteria, as @KylieTastic said. qcne (talk) 15:10, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Qcne, @KylieTastic I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear earlier. I’d like to clarify that I’m not using Wikipedia to promote my game. At the moment, I use platforms like Reddit, Lurkit, and Keymailer for that. Wikipedia is a beautiful open-source resource that I truly love and respect, but as a solo indie developer, I currently lack significant media coverage.
- My question is: are 12-14 streams by mid-sized and small influencers considered sufficient? If not, can I draft the article and wait for my game to gain more visibility in the coming months?
- I’ve read the guidelines, but there seem to be too many "grey areas" for my liking. As a programmer, I prefer having clear numbers: how many sources are required to have an article about my game approved? Are 10-20 outlets enough, or is it absolutely necessary to have a mention from a major outlet like IGN?
- Thank you for your clarification. Lykan Digital93 (talk) 22:55, 8 January 2025 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, grey it is, because of the complexity of drawing a fine line for so many different types of subjects. In general, you want significant coverage in reliable independent sources. Being included in a list is not considered significant coverage. Blogs are not considered reliable sources. Influencers are generally not considered independent sources.
- Wikipedia is not a place to get noticed. Wikipedia is a place for subjects that have already been noticed. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 02:14, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
- I would usually be looking for three strong sources that provide significant independent coverage. So in this case, three different reviews from mainstream game journalists.
- YouTubers usually don't count. qcne (talk) 08:08, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of User:Lykan Digital93
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on User:Lykan Digital93, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 04:00, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
Advert and COI warnings
[edit]Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Whether or not you intended to advertise this game, you did so. You admitted that you have an interest in it. My advice is to take some time to read the Wikipedia guidelines and practise by making small improvements to existing articles, rather than trying to create a new one for an unsuitable topic.
