IRC

[edit]

--Tolkachev I. (talk) 11:54, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lvova Anastasiya (talk) 13:03, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
--Tolkachev I. (talk) 19:55, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
IRC is a waste of time. They also have very bad manners there. Just join our "Veliky pochin" and write encyclopedic articles. SA ru (talk) 13:14, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Good work uploading images to several Ireland related articles. Could you please apply them to infoboxes where appropriate as the article flow may otherwise become 'banjaxed'. If you need any help, drop me a line. Best. RashersTierney (talk) 14:40, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wright Challenge

[edit]

Impressed by your contributions to the Wright Challenge. We now have six barnstar holders. Victuallers (talk) 07:42, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

it's strange that so little :) Lvova Anastasiya (talk) 12:40, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi we added your score to the "Wright Challenge" page. Hope you are enjoying the challenge Victuallers (talk) 15:43, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for recent contribution. Are you at Wikimania? I'm talking about the project on the Saturday and will be mentioning our work Victuallers (talk) 12:14, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, there is too hot weather in Israel for me, so I skip the event. I'm going to look at you through a webcast :) Lvova Anastasiya (talk) 12:17, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe a wise move. I see I made a mess of the wright challenge page, is it repaired now?
I think it's ok now. Lvova Anastasiya (talk) 18:35, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So you won!!!

[edit]

Hi, you won!!! I'm hoping you are pleased because I'm over the moon. To think that Russians and Belorusians can wander around a museum in the heart of England and be told about our culture in their language is amazing. Well over 100 articles. Hundreds of points. 53,000 hits for one painting!!!! Did you see the webcast? A video is also being made.

Send me your address by gmail (I'm victuallers there too) and we (in time!) will get the goods and money voucher to you (we intend to buy a voucher on Amazon.com to get the money to you).

IDEA: If there was going to ne another similar challenge/ event then it could not be an English Museum (we had our turn). Seems to me the winner of the competition could decide. Maybe you would like to suggest this to your chapter? I would suggest you choose a similar size museum as we just about did all of Derby Museum.

Jimmy in Indy

WHEN you come to Derby, I will give you a tour Victuallers (talk) 11:07, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yep I saw the ceremony :) Thank you again, Roger!
I'll write a letter to you. I think our chapter will be glad to take part and it will be the one problem - to organize all of it =) Lvova Anastasiya (talk) 12:11, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well if you need to organise it then I would help with the English bit and you could steal most of it from us. The rules page is in 3 languages already.
I shouldn't worry to much about the QRpedia picture We should have a creative commons logo on it. It is certainly not copyright. Although you might want to use this pic.
I see you have done extra articles - thanks.
Oh and see these 5 failures to find a Russian version? I predict you'd find a Wiki-mate in Lori (who is in Indy) if you created a stub for her in Russian? Victuallers (talk) 15:01, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I'll create the article. You may say me if you'll find smth else :) I glad to help with this.
We cannot use the screenshot as a free picture while we haven't logo or text about license freedom on the same page, I'm afraid.
Our WLM will ended soon, and we will make the contest then :) Thanks for the offer of help, we will use it! Lvova Anastasiya (talk) 08:38, 24 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation assistant

[edit]

Hi, I was wonder if you'd be interested in improving the relatedness program for Dab solver? The current implementation only counts pages linking to the referring page and the possible target and the SQL runs relativity fast, but it doesn't produce enough data. Nevertheless, its been useful to highlight the more likely targets. The principle constraint has to run under half a minute while trying analyzing more connections.

My research indicates that you already have an active and up to date graph database. What I'd like is for the program to determine in which cluster the referring article is and highlight others which are also in that cluster. — Dispenser 03:52, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I showed your words to Mashiah Davidson; he is the author of tools from tools:~lvova. I think it would be very interesting for him. It's interesting for me too but I'm not programmer at all :) Lvova Anastasiya (talk) 10:07, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Children's Museum update

[edit]
Kit Cat Klock

It's time again to share the latest news on the Children's Museum of Indianapolis Wikipedia project! In the last few months we have been busy with our third image donation, which was made up of 150 images that were professionally photographed specifically for this upload. We are asking for volunteers to categorize these images and distribute them into Wikipedia articles. Your help is appreciated! Check them out here.

We have also donated our first video and a second GLAM-Wiki Infographic to Commons. In September we were thrilled to welcome Jimmy Wales to the museum. Following our successful Edit-a-Thon and Translate-a-Thon in August, translations have continued with the help of the established QRpedia community, (particularly Russian translations thanks to Lvova!) We have begun to analyze our implementation of QRpedia codes and completed an extensive case study. In November we presented at the Museum Computer Network conference about how museums can effectively collaborate with Wikipedia. You can see more details on the Prezi.

In more general news, in addition to serving as the Children's Museum's Wikipedian-in-Residence, it was recently announced that I will be taking on the role of US Cultural Partnerships Coordinator for the Wikimedia Foundation. In this role I will be working to streamline the process of connecting interested US GLAMs with the Wikipedia community. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to let me know. Be sure to sign up for This Month in GLAM to keep up with the latest GLAM-Wiki news from around the world (subscribe).

We have a listing of High Need and Moderate Need requests on the Ways to Help section on the project page. I encourage you to lend a hand if you're able. While the Children's Museum partnership continues to truck along, we still are in desperate need of volunteers to help disperse our images and update and maintain content. Thank you for your time and help. Happy holidays! LoriLee (talk) 16:45, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

Hi Anastasia, I will be in Estonia on 29/30th - on my map that makes you look closer. The head of Russian Wikipedia was surprised that I had a picture of him! Do put the word out for MonmouthpediA! We have been told to pospone main celebrations because we will effect the local elections!! 08:57, 12 April 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Victuallers (talkcontribs)

Hi! Sorry that I didn't reply in twitter. Now I don't know should I go to WikiWomenCamp or to Estonia! If my talks about scholarship in Argentina will fail, see you in Estonia, I think. Or may be I'll get a vacation on work... Don't understand what to do yet :) Lvova Anastasiya (talk) 09:11, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh WikiWomenCamp sounds cool - (Thanks for the heritage trail).... I trip with Lori? and Sarah S sounds good too. Victuallers (talk) 19:04, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Anastasia, I'm happy to see your name among the silver medallists in the Monmouth challenge (and this time I'm there too!) Now, can I find more material for the next stage, the Geoffrey of Monmouth challenge? I'm going to give it a try ... Andrew Dalby 12:32, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting small help

[edit]

I was looking for some small help. I created an article en:Kithaab(French fr:Kithaab/Spanish es:Kithaab/de:Kithaab) -a play about women rights issues- which has been copy edited and is ready for translation in various languages.

Russian is one of top 8 most spoken global languages. Out of first 8 languages the article is already got translated in 6 of them, but Russian language Wikipedia (and Chinese too) are remaining to get article Kithaab translated in. Translating in Russian will also help translating in other global languages including central Asian ones.

Looking for your possible help in translating the article en:Kithaab to your Russian language Wikipedia. If you are unable to spare time yourself then may be you like to refer the same to some other translator.

Thanks and Warm Regards
