A tag has been placed on Katie Hill (congressional candidate), requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Help me! Wikipedia page affiliation incorrectly listed

[edit]

Hi there,

I recently created my first wikipedia page, but I received a notification that it might be speedily deleted. I contested the deletion, but it says that I am affiliated or paid by the individual person I created the page about, which is not correct. I am not paid nor am I affiliated with the campaign, so I’m not sure why the page was looked at as being deleted, and as to why I was listed as such.

You'll find it difficult to convince people that you aren't associated with the subject of the article in some way. How did you come to know all the information that the cited sources don't contain?
Irrespective of that, the article is nominated for deletion because it's blatantly promotional and because unelected candidated for office generally aren't notable enough to be the subject of an encyclopedia article. Huon (talk) 23:45, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I'm a bit confused, this is my first wikipedia page. I would really appreciate help in understanding the reason for the deletion when another candidate in this race has a wikipedia page. I'd really appreciate help with this, and will support a deletion or revision or what ever is needed to correct this and the affiliation that I have with the subject, as I have volunteered with them before, but was not aware that this violated wikipedia's ethics. Thank you very much for your help!Lukiholtz (talk) 23:56, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
