An arbitration case regarding Magioladitis has now closed and the final decision is viewable at the link above. The following remedies have been enacted:
- Magioladitis (talk · contribs) is indefinitely prohibited from making any edit which only introduces a cosmetic change (that is, where there is no substantive change made in the same edit). However, Magioladitis may make (without a substantive change in the same edit) or bundle (for example, as part of "general fixes") cosmetic changes from his bot account if the bot request for approval specifically allows this. This sanction supersedes remedy 7.1 of the original case.
- Magioladitis is indefinitely prohibited from initiating or participating in any discussion concerning WP:COSMETICBOT, including discussions concerning its impact. Magioladitis may ask specific questions, at the bot noticeboard or bot request for approval, to clarify whether bot tasks he wishes to undertake, or is currently undertaking, are permitted under remedy 1.1 of this case. Once a question has been answered, and discussion closed, by an uninvolved BAG member or administrator, Magioladitis is not permitted to raise the same question again, except in a clarification request if required. This sanction supersedes the community sanction applied in June 2017.
- Magioladitis is indefinitely prohibited from using AWB, or similar tool (such as WPCleaner), on the English Wikipedia. This prohibition does not apply to bots operated by Magioladitis undertaking approved tasks. For clarity, he may discuss AWB and similar tools (notwithstanding his other sanctions), but may not make edits using them (or a derivative) on the English Wikipedia. This sanction supersedes the community sanction applied in July 2017.
- Magioladitis is reminded that accounts making automated edits (bots) must be approved by the bot approvals group before being used. He is indefinitely prohibited from making automated edits from his main (User:Magioladitis) account.
- For consistent poor judgement and failure to follow Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, Magioladitis is desysopped. He may regain the tools at any time through a successful request for adminship.

Indian Cricket team's tour of England
The notes under every match are to provide context and information as to what were the main standout events in that match. The century was one of them. I know that 18 is not a milestone. The note was not meant as milestone. It was a piece of information. If someone is looking for information on what happened during the match in a nutshell, then that is something notable in this context. Having watched the match myself, the century was what comfortably carried India across the line(they would have won even without it, but might not have been as easy), hence notable in the context of the match. ~¤Spacefarer¤~ (talk) 09:54, 13 July 2018 (UTC)Azhar0705~¤Spacefarer¤~ (talk) 09:54, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
- We record the notable milestones (1st, 10th, 25th, for example). Unless it was some sort of record, the rest becomes trivia bloat. Look back at any other series for the same standard. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:39, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
That would be on a players individual page, but on a series page under a match sub-topic ? Isn't it relevant to have information on the key events in a match ?(under a match - in the notes) I think that is the point of recording events.~¤Spacefarer¤~ (talk) 11:12, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
- I agree with Lugnuts that the matchbox should have major achievements only. If you want to include fuller details then I'd suggest writing a match report and include the details there in some prose (well sourced of course). Spike 'em (talk) 14:16, 14 July 2018 (UTC)

Wrong respectively incomplete informations in article about Helga Gnauer
Sorry, as far as i know there is no reference for Helga Gnauer's death (date and location) online. I can possibly provide a scan of her death certificate, if my sister stored it. In any case Helga Gnauer is not alive any more, trust me, she was my mother. To proof my reliability you may ask Claudia Garád, manager of wikimedia austria, my name is Herbert Gnauer. But if you're not interested in correction of this wrong information it's ok, so she will receive eternal life at wikipedia... ;)
Same for her birthname (Helga Zuber) and professional activity as a food chemist (maybe my sister has stored some documents). Even her dissertation is not online, there are only a few articles, all of them in german.
Here is a reference for her coach Richard Verderber (in german), but i don't know where to fill in, since 'coach' is a given field and not part of the text block: http://www.sportfechten.at/de/ueber-uns/geschichte-des-ufc.html

Cricket question
I know you work on Cricket articles (amongst a million other topics) - does Arjun Tendulkar meet WP:CRIN? I'm not certain whether appearing in a U-19 Test meets the "the highest international or domestic level" criteria. Cheers,--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:16, 26 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Ponyo: No, he doesn't meet it (yet). U19 matches are not the highest international level. For example, lots of players play in U19 Tests, or at the U19 World Cup, but they don't meet the notability until they've played at a level above U19. Also, this article was previously deleted for the same reason. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 06:19, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
- I thought as much but wanted to make sure. When the original article was deleted via AfD in 2014, Tendulkar had only appeared in U-13 and U-14 tournaments, so I wanted to make sure his appearing in the U-19 matches didn't push him into valid WP:CRIN territory prior to deleting the new article and restoring the redirect. Looks like someone else has done the needy in the interim. Thanks for the input!--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 15:39, 27 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:10, 28 July 2018 (UTC)

Early rowers
Great to see your work on early rowing bios. I'm currently working in the same era for the European Rowing Championships. Just a couple of observations. Cite sports-reference should be a lot quicker to use than cite web (and it provides a more complete citation). And I believe that there ought to be two line breaks before stub templates (although I cannot find this documented anywhere); you appear to delete these line breaks. All good; keep up your good work. Schwede66 21:07, 1 August 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks! Just wading through all the missing Olympians, one sport at a time. Rowing seemed to have one of the highest numbers of missing articles, from this list, and its sister list. I'm up to the 1948 Olympics at the moment, so if there's some high-profile rowers from that and the next few games, then please create them if you have more info than me. I know next to nothing about rowing myself! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:03, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
- The high profile rowers that I'm aware of are already done (at least for the era where you are working right now). Just stopping by to point out that the community has agreed to use "rowing" as the dab for coxswains, as opposed to "rower" for their team mates. Schwede66 18:59, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

Question
Hello Lugnuts. I saw that you edited this article Carlos Barredo (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) last year. Do you know anything about the items that are crossed out? Should they be removed - citation needed tagged - or is this something normal for that kind of article. Now I know it might be a coincidence that you edited the article and you might not have any answers for me but I thought it worth checking with you just in case. Cheers. MarnetteD|Talk 17:53, 9 August 2018 (UTC)
- Hello. For cyclists (an area that I'm quite active in), it seems to be the norm to strike out any race results when they've been disqualified. The section above this, about doping, gives a bit info on Barredo's article. He was DQ'd from 26 October 2007, and the Vuelta a España takes place in Aug/Sept, hence why his 2007 results aren't voided. Hope that helps. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:01, 9 August 2018 (UTC)

AfC submissions tags on Thomas Dean (swimmer)
Hi there Lugnuts. I noticed you moved Thomas Dean (swimmer) from Draftspace to Mainspace without removing the AfC submission tags. You should consider using the AfC Helper tool instead. It adds all kinds of neat features for adding categories, specifying relevant WikiProjects and assessments for the article quality, in addition to providing fields to quickly enter info for Wikidata. It also removes any no longer relevant AfC submission tags. You can follow the relevant instructions here if you wish. Best wishes! Waggie (talk) 20:45, 9 August 2018 (UTC)

Hello Lugnuts, I recently went back to my contributions of this article where I tagged this article with a {{one source}}
template because it had only one reliable source, including external links. You also deleted the national team parameter for the infobox which I'm not sure if it was still necessary. Can you please explain why you deleted the tag because I didn't see any edit summary either. Just trying to keep things clear here, Yanjipy (talk) 20:05, 10 August 2018 (UTC) (You also deleted my edit for János Dzvonyár.)
- Hi. Per the template instructions for one source - "Consider not adding this tag to stubs". Of course it only has one source, it's a one-line stub. There's nothing to gain by adding one source to such a small article. If it was a much bigger article (several paragraphs) and it only cited one "fact", then it would be appropriate to use. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:08, 11 August 2018 (UTC)

Hi Lugnuts, as there are a few more Czechoslovak rowing bios to come, allow me to point out that we've got a separate stub tag for them. {{Czechoslovakia-rowing-bio-stub}}
is the one to use for rowers up to the 1992 Olympics. From 1996, they either competed as Czech Republic ({{CzechRepublic-rowing-bio-stub}}
) or Slovakia ({{Slovakia-rowing-bio-stub}}
). Schwede66 19:22, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads-up. TBH, I've only ever seen the Czech Republic one used ubiquitously across other sports. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 19:34, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah, I split off the Czechoslovakia-rowing-bio-stub. There's enough of them but more importantly, it's historically more correct. Some of them were, of course, from what is now Slovakia. Schwede66 19:38, 31 August 2018 (UTC)

Section-formatting
Hello Lugnuts. I saw your edit in the Yukari Watanabe-article, and wonder where it says that there shouldn't be any spaces in the articlesection-headers at the front or at the back of the text or numbering headers. Best regards Migrant (talk) 00:52, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @Migrant: - I go by MOS:VAR, which basically states the original style/format should be kept, unless there's a good reason to change it. Hope that helps. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 06:55, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for your answer. I have done more than 50,000 edits on norwegian wikipedia but just passed a 1,000 edits here on english so am not that familiar with the specific style here yet, so that was my reason for asking. Best regards Migrant (talk) 19:37, 3 September 2018 (UTC)

Hi
I just wanted your opinion on something is it appropriate that someone keeps adding people that only redirect to other pages on List of living centenarians ? I see you actually talked about this in one of the AFD debates for the page. 208.54.90.134 (talk) 18:28, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

Hi Lugnuts, you started this article (like so many others) in January; I've been expanding it lately. I noticed the Plot section was identical to the one on IMDb. I reached out to the author of the section [10] who says it is original to Wikipedia. AGF gives that some weight, but when it was first added, if it was on your watchlist, I'm wondering if you checked it for copyvios at the time? Ribbet32 (talk) 21:16, 9 September 2018 (UTC)
- No comment? Ribbet32 (talk) 13:20, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Ribbet32: - sorry, I seem to have missed your initial post. Apologies for that. I've just done some checking, and sadly that IMDB page isn't captured at Web Archive for the URL for the plot summary. However, I'm 99% sure I would have checked it at the time, as I do for all plot additions. So therefore, I guess it isn't a copyvio based on that, and what the editor said who added it. Again, sorry for not replying before. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 13:37, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
Regarding your repeated efforts to trash my puny geolocation edit: I get it now! You're uncomfortable with geolocating images!
So here's how it works:
1. Go to the first URL I supplied pointing to the movie's page at the HKFFF - Hong-Kong French Film Festival: Hong Kong French Film Festival for this movie Note the top-left image (the one with the white "play" arrow on a red circle center-image) of the arched viaduct, the house with the seven white windows in front of it and the quay.
2. Open a new window and go to the second URL I supplied: Google StreetView Image of the set location In the Google StreetView image, note the same arched viaduct, the same house with the seven white windows in front of it and the same quay. Use your mouse to click and drag the StreetView image left, right, up and down, to view these objects.
3. Compare the arched viaduct, the house with the seven white windows (count them!) in front of it and the quay in the HKFFF and StreetView images and note they are the same indicating they were both taken at the same location.
4. Click the left-pointing little arrow in the top-left corner of the Google StreetView image. The window will now switch to the Google Map view and will be magically centered at the location the Google StreetView image was taken! Google Maps will also show the names of the orographic feature at that location: "Cap Méjean" and the geolocation tag titled "Free Parking Lot" and sub-titled "Parking des Visiteurs des Calanques des Méjeans".
5. In a new window, go to the coordinates I supplied for the house where the "The House by the Sea" movie was filmed. Wikipedia GeoHack tool at the location of the movie set Click the Google Satellite link (eleventh row down, third column to the right).
6. Click the small left-arrowed light-gray tab at the top of the window near the center to collapse-left the large annoying white sub-window along the left edge of the main window.
7. Zoom into the image by clicking the white-on-black plus sign at the bottom right of the window six times. Behold the appearance of the orographic label: "Cap Méjean" and the purple geolocation tag titled "Free Parking Lot" and "Parking des Visiteurs des Calanques des Méjeans".
8. Note the orographic label: "Cap Méjean" and the purple geolocation tag titled "Free Parking Lot" and "Parking des Visiteurs des Calanques des Méjeans" in 4. and 7. are exactly the same! Bingo! The geolocation coordinates and orographic names I provided in my edit are verified!
Congratulations! You have now graduated from your basic geolocation course and are now qualified to geolocate your own points of interest.
Oh, before I forget, since you semi-locked the The House by the Sea (2017 film) page, please make sure you undo your trashing of my edit and restore ny "Production" section with the geolocation information.
Finally think about whether your repeated deletions of my measly, puny, unassuming geolocation effort were warranted and whether semi-protecting the page ("This level of protection is useful when there is a significant amount of disruption or vandalism from new or unregistered users" according to https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Protection_policy#semi) was really necessary.
So many thanks!
Bye!

DC in 2009
Hi. I have a doubt for the infobox in Deccan Chargers in 2009 page. 2009 IPL was conducted in South Africa but they didn't get any particular home grounds to the teams during that IPL. So, I mentioned their Indian home ground in the infobox maintaining what all the other season pages placed in their infobox. I recently nominated the article for GA and have still doubt on the home ground present in the article. Is that correct and if not, what do you suggest to keep as home ground since none of the matches were played in the hyderabad? Thanks in advance. Sagavaj (talk) 23:46, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Sagavaj: - probably the best thing to do here is to add a footnote to explain the complexity of this for the season. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:18, 11 September 2018 (UTC)

Hi. I was wondering if you could undo your deletion to my improvements of Luigi Pavese's Wikipedia page? I just figured out how to add citations and sources and I was able to find a source that successfully proves that Luigi Pavese was a voice dubber. 20SS00 (talk) 17:53, 12 September 2018 (UTC)

Hi there, I reverted your change on Jean-Luc du Plessis, where you stated he's included in the SWD cricket team. Vijay Hazare Trophy table
Hi. Based on the article from cricinfo, the color codes placed in the tables to indicate who will advance to knockouts might be wrong. Can you check it for yourself and correct the table accordingly. Thanks. Sagavaj (talk) 11:17, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, you could have the scenario of all five teams coming from one group, instead of two from one, and three from another. Unlikely, but certainly interesting! Will take a look at the colour-codes later. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:22, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

I added content in the notes of India vs Hong Kong in 2018 Asia Cup but, apparently, it seems that you have deleted it stating that it fails WP:V. May I know how? The Mathlete (talk) 16:08, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

- You've just stated a page of a newspaper! It may well be in said newspaper, but it's not the best use of a source. It was also incredibly trivial too, so has no real value either. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:22, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

2020 ICC World Twenty20 and 2020 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier
Hey, I understand why you reverted my edit back to what it was because it hadn't hit the deadline yet, but with not many T20I matches left that could influence its mathematically impossible for the top 10 to be changed with the fact that Bangladesh holds a fifteen point advantage over Scotland in the ICC T20I Championship which would be too much to drop in three matches (as they take on the West Indies in December). That is why I did confirmed those nations where they were in terms of confirmation of the qualified World Cup teams and who might have to compete in the World Cup qualifier. Animation is developing 02:32, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
- Hi. It all needs to be sourced, ideally when the ICC confirms who has/has not qualified, as currently it is original research. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 06:47, 20 September 2018 (UTC)

Hello, Lugnuts. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Kim Soo-jin, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Seriously, stop it. Adding unsourced content is not vandalism. However, reverting four times within 24 hours is, as you know, a bright line not to cross - and furthermore, stretching out the reverts so that they span over a couple of days does not wash. So, with apologies for sounding like Alan Sugar about to rip a new one on a hapless Apprentice contestant in the board room, why shouldn't I block you? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:34, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Ritchie. Well this IP (range) keeps adding unsourced info to this page (and the one for China). They do the same thing EVERY year around this time of year. Take a look at the log of the page, for example. They did the same thing at the Taiwan page. And guess what? It turned out to be incorrect. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:38, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
- Okay, well my advice would be to a) state on the talk page that the information the IP is adding is definitely and without doubt factually incorrect (so when admins come looking for the all important "diffs of attempt to resolve the dispute on the talk page", you've got them) b) report the IP to ANI, making absolutely sure you can explain why the IP is just flat out wrong. AIV really isn't the venue for this, and AN3 is likely to get a boomerang block. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:41, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
- Well thanks for WP:AGF in the first place. I'll leave it to you to sort out this matter from now on. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:43, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
- Well the IP has been given fair warning, so if the article gets protected again, they shouldn't be acting surprised about it. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:07, 21 September 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Nigerian male fencers
A tag has been placed on Category:Nigerian male fencers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Re: The Cycling Barnstar
Many thanks! I suppose it makes up for the money lost on the races this weekend – hedged my bets away from the favourites and got me nowhere! Someone else will have to do it next year, as I aim to take as much of the races in as possible in Yorkshire – took in a stage of the Tour de Yorkshire this year, and that was crazy enough fanswise. The Worlds is going to take it to a whole new level. While I'm here, I'll apologise for the slightly snarky edit summary on the cricket page a few weeks back; what I meant by the unnecessary part was that there was around 3Kb of wikitext that was there that didn't need to be. But when you described the reasoning, I can understand. Why change what isn't broke! Craig(talk) 18:14, 30 September 2018 (UTC)
