I'm sorry; my message does say I noticed that you were new and/or have yet to receive any messages so I just thought I'd pop in to say "hello"., so even though you're already a veteran, you haven't had any messages, and thus deserve a welcome. I know it's geared towards newbies, and apologize for the mistake. Happy editing! СПУТНИКССС Р 00:15, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Apologizing for an honest mistake that occured while you were being warm and welcoming? Sputnik, you *must* be Canadian, eh! ;) I owe you a timbit. --LuciferBlack 02:36, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

24 info boxes

[edit]

since you put which season it is, you dont need 501, cause that stands for season 5, episode 1, so, its just basically repeating the same thing -Xornok 19:45, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I wasn't sure how to format it. So what do I drop, Season or Episode Number? --LuciferBlack 19:47, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, LuciferBlack. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Invisible Pink Unicorn Logo.png) was found at the following location: User:LuciferBlack. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 09:23, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

D'oh! Replaced Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg with Image:Ipu.png --LuciferBlack 18:35, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My concern about your username

[edit]

Hello, LuciferBlack, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Let me reassure you that my writing here means I don't think your username is grossly, blatantly, or obviously inappropriate; such names get reported straight to Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention or blocked on sight. This is more a case where opinions might differ, and it would be good to reach some consensus — either here or at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names. So I look forward to a friendly discussion, and to enjoying your continued participation on Wikipedia. Thank you. TTalk to me 22:44, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly do you find offensive about this handle? I read the username policy & [[1]] and I'm still at a loss as to why you find this handle offensive. --LuciferBlack 23:06, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've been editing Wikipedia for a while and have two FAs to my credit, and I have the word "Lucifer" in my username. What's the actual offense in this? None whatsoever, and in my opinion there's been no violation of any rules. LuciferMorgan 23:29, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The thing I got out of it is that it promotes a religion: Usernames that invoke the name of a religious figure or religion in a distasteful, disrespectful, or provocative way, or promote one religion over another. And Usernames that are defamatory or insulting to other people, groups, articles or processes. TTalk to me 22:07, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I 100% disagree that any of the two quotes you have just quoted apply to this person's username or mine. The name "Lucifer" is derived from the Latin "Lucem Fero", which means "I bring the light", and in essence "Lucifer" means "light-bringer". I see nothing wrong with this at all, and I'm keen to know which religion you feel the name promotes also because in my opinion it promotes none. This person need not change his name, nor I. LuciferMorgan 22:15, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I assure you, Wikihermit, my username is just a username, not a political/social/religious statement/invocation. Perhaps you'd like to read through the article Lucifer? It has as much to do with religion as hermit. Now if my username was PurpleOystersSuck, then yeah, that would be a religious statement. Thanks for your support, LuciferMorgan. --LuciferBlack 20:42, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:24 (TV series) episodes, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:24 (TV series) episodes has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:24 (TV series) episodes, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
