In your last edit, you inserted the following as a comment:

regarding properly cited: 2 of three sources are dead links and neither is sourced from court documents or from publicly issued press releases from either party or the courts. this is negative information that Im sure the subject would rather not have as part of an entry. Additionally it is hearsay and potentially libelous

The functioning link is to a major Washington Post article. I saw no basis for your assertion that "neither" is sourced from court documents - do you have inside information about what reporters looked at before writing the articles? More importantly, the Wikipedia requirement for sources - WP:RS - has no mention that court documents and press releases are the only allowable sources for Wikipedia articles when there is a court case.

Subjects of Wikipedia articles have no say or veto authority over what is in their articles. I'm sure that Jack Abramoff would rather that his Wikipedia article cover only his college education and charitable contributions, but we're an encylopedia, not a PR firm.

Regarding "hearsay and potentially libelous" information in the article, if you have evidence that the Washington Post and other newspapers have been (successfully) sued for printing the stories they did about Mr. Gabelli, please feel free to post that here or on my talk page or on the talk page of the article on Gabelli. Otherwise, please note that per WP:BLP, negative information is perfectly acceptable in Wikipedia articles where it has been properly sourced, as is the case here. Further, please read Wikipedia:No legal threats; editors who make such threats may be blocked from further editing.

Finally, I note that you have only edited this article. If you are connected in some way to Mr. Gabelli, please read our conflict of interest policy and follow it. -- John Broughton (☎☎) 05:36, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If find it interesting and revealing that you compare a civil suit brought by an uninterested party against a related Corporation that resulted in a private undisclosed settlement to a Federal Felony Guilty plea(Abramoff)of an individual who is now doing time for Federal Crimes.
