User categories
[edit]Hello,
I am in the process of deleting or merging a few user categories that you created, which either recreated previously deleted categories or duplicated existing categories. Before creating additional user categories, please read WP:USERBOXCAT (essentially, most userboxes do not require an accompanying user category) and the user category guideline. If you have any questions, I would be happy to assist.
Thank you, and welcome! -- Black Falcon (talk) 20:53, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
- I also deleted Category:User la-0, which recreated a category that was previously deleted following a community discussion. In general, avoid recreating pages that were previously deleted without first discussing it with someone else (see Wikipedia:Deletion policy#Deletion review). It appears several of your recent category creations may have the same issue. Thanks, and again I would be glad to assist if you have questions. -- Black Falcon (talk) 21:17, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
Lsandre, when you add category code to your user page, as you did here, that action automatically populates a category. Some of the categories you are producing have been discussed previously and a consensus was reached to delete them, and many others are contrary to the user category guideline. If you are trying to achieve the effect of having category "tags" listed at the bottom of your user page, there is an alternative method that gives you the same effect without popoulating multiple inappropriate categories:
For example:
{{fmbox | image = none | textstyle = text-align:left; margin:1em 0em; color:#0645AD | text = {{flatlist| * Human Wikipedians * Wikipedians on Earth * Add more bullets if desired }} }}
produces:
|
without generating an actual category (grouping) and the associated Category: page. Would this be a suitable solution for what you are trying to do? Thanks, -- Black Falcon (talk) 20:35, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry, I've removed the inappropriate categories from my user page. I think it should be more in adequation with the consensus now. Lsandre (talk) 22:15, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, I appreciate it! -- Black Falcon (talk) 16:31, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 5
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Radicalism (historical), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page French. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

About your editing of the Socialist Party (France)
[edit]You have revised the political orientation of the Socialist Party (France) to be between the left and the left, but no source has been provided. If you significantly modify the ideology and political orientation of the Socialist Party (France) in the future, you can increase the reliability of editing by adding a reliable source.Veteran editor (talk) 17:45, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Veteran editor The sources are attached to the position. It's the previous modification which has revised the orientation without sources. Lsandre (talk) 17:54, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
@Lsandre The existing source describes PS as a centre-left party, so a completely new source is needed if the political position is revised. Veteran editor (talk) 17:59, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Veteran editor Sorry, I mismatch with Left Party (France) where you made an undo of my change.
