Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Charles Finch (British businessman), and I noticed that your username, "LotteFinchandPartners", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Lotte86854737374, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Charles Finch (British businessman), which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to request an edit on the article's talk page, rather than making that edit yourself. Instructions for how to do this are here.

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hi Joe,
I can see that this image was flagged by you and not Wikipedia, the image has been given to Charles and thus has been released by its owner, please could you advise if you would flag the image again now that you know this information,
Thank you,
Lotte Lotte86854737374 (talk) 17:06, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Simply having given the image to Charles isn't sufficient - the owner of the copyright of the image needs to submit it to Wikipedia with a license making it free to use for anyone. The instructions for them to do so are here. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 19:28, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Finch picture - what to do

[edit]

You need to show that the copyright holder of the photo (which is often the photographer, rather than the subject) has released the photo under the license listed here. If you personally are the copyright holder (e.g. you took the picture), then please read this. If you're not the copyright holder, then you need to get the copyright holder to send written permission to COM:VRT. Instructions for doing that are here. Once one of those is done, the image can be used on Wikipedia. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 20:36, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Lotte86854737374. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Charles Finch (British businessman), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Considering your prior username was "LotteFinchandPartners", you should not be editing the article without declaring your COI and following the steps required for COI editors.notwally (talk) 18:28, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
